  Mormon’s are Christian. I’ve accepted Christ as my Savior too, while somehow remaining a member of the Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.

  First: Mormon’s are Christians. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.

  Second: Mormons go to Church every Sunday. It is where they take the sacrament and renew their covenants with Jesus Christ. The Temple is a place for higher ordinances such as Baptism for the Dead (1 Corinthians 15:29) and Marriage.

  Third: Mormons are not trying to take cues from Muslims.

  Fourth: Mormons do believe in hell, we just don’t dwell on it.

  I’m a scoutmaster. Part of the child protection classes I take concern protecting boys from other boys. If a gay leader has an ethical view that homosexuality is normal, what would that leader do if a boy was caught being sexually suggestive to another boy? At what point would he stop it?

  Would that gay leader stop the conduct immediately? Would the boy say “You’re gay, what am I doing so wrong?”

  Homosexuality incorporates sexual activity into the time honored tradition of brotherhood. For most of us, that is a “don’t go there” or “don’t cross that line” situation. For gays that is Saturday night at the club.

  Gays bring a lifestyle that conflicts with the ethical and moral traditions of the parents who send their kids to Scouts and the many churches who sponsor scouting. In an institution that is all about brotherhood, we would have leaders who practice sexual relations with their brothers? No.

  There are a variety of arguments we could engage in. The bottom line is most parents have concerns sending their kids anywhere, let alone with a gay guy into the woods. Political Correctness can fly out the window, I would never send my son with a gay man for a week in the woods.

  Gay men like male genitalia. It just so happens most boyscouts have that. End of story.

  I’m a scoutmaster. I’ve been to many scout camps. I can tell you this, if somebody was found to be a pedophile while at scout camp, he would have a really bad time.

  Scoutmasters are rough and tumble sorts, men who love to get out and camp and be active. Churches usually assign them to be scoutmasters. I didn’t volunteer for this, I was assigned it. Called to it, if you will.

  There are multiple classes on child protection that I take every year or so and we implement a “two deep leadership” policy at all functions.

  I am sure some pedo’s are attracted to the Scouting organization but I’ve yet to meet or hear of one in my district. If you met the guys I scout with you’d think it was more of a burly rough and tumble outdoors club. Scouting is a great organization and it teaches boys timeless values of manhood.

  Homosexuality is the sexualization of brotherhood. We don’t need it in an organization that is all about brotherhood.

  I hope the BSA stands firm. I worry it won’t.

  I suspect they are going to let the gays in by letting local chapters make each decision. That way, if a local chapter refuses to let gays into their district it suddenly becomes the sponsoring churches fault instead of the BSA.

  They are delaying for one reason: It is currently Friends of Scouting fundraiser time. They have pamphlets and flyers distributed and are waiting for their yearly donations to trickle in.

  Once that is done, they’ll make their announcement.

  But we will see.

  I believe New York is going to get hit worse because of this immediate sentiment.
  I believe Bloomberg, Gore and the like are stealing God’s voice.

  Sometimes storms are humbling reminders to a wayward populace. I can’t say anyone deserved this or that. I certainly deserve a thump or two.

  But I can say, when a horrific, humbling event which could bring people closer to their God occurs, and some demagogue stands up and says “It wasn’t God. It was man!”

  Well… they’re just asking for worse.

  Maybe the plague is next? That can’t be blamed on global warming. Or a meteor?

  I hate this “I told you so” crap coming from these leftists who stand to profit from carbon credits.

  Carbon, by the way, has 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons. Oh and it is number 6 on the periodic table.

  Watch out for those carbon taxes coming soon. That is some biblical stuff. Being taxed for breathing and driving and running a business because of “global warming”?
