Want to See What CSCOPE and Common Core (Even Homeschooling) Lessons Look Like? These Parents Opened Up to TheBlaze
April 3, 2013 at 3:03am
Eleven years ago, we were excited to enroll our child into an Ohio Charter e-school that is using the k12.com program. We felt with William Bennett, formerly the Secretary of Education under Ronald Reagan being the company’s chairman of the board was a good indication that it was a solid program. Bennett stepped down in 2005. We have noticed over the past few years global warming, corporate greed, government is good, etc, is creeping into nearly all of our lessons. Fortunately, we counter it during the lessons, but have not confronted the administrators. It’s not even being presented as theory, but rather fact. We thought it was random, but now it’s constant. I don’t know how to approach it for fear we might get flagged and ultimately removed from the program as trouble makers.
Union Tactics: Ohio Town Littered With Flyers Containing Personal Info of So-Called ‘Scabs’
March 9, 2013 at 4:05am
As parents dealing with Ohio teachers for over 25 years, and hearing “it’s for the children,” We’d had it with public schools. With our youngest, we were told he didn’t fit their mold. We put him in Ohio Virtual Academy, an eschool charter school. We dealt with Ted Strickland’s threats to punish charters to help his crony union buds. Our child is educated by us, at home through the k-12 program that William Bennett spearheaded. We’ve been in this charter school for eleven years and our child has consistently tested above average on state tests. If you are tired of fretting over teachers unions, bully issues, or liberal agenda, pull your child out of Ohio public schools, and move your child home into this great program.
Mitt Romney goes incognito at Costco
December 4, 2012 at 5:11pm
Gee, the left stream media who snarked how the Romney’s probably send “the help” to do their day to day tasks are now stalking them, only to find they do get their hands dirty like everyone else. Their writing and posting these pictures doesn’t fit their narrative of the privileged Romneys, so I wonder why now. How ’bout we just let them get on with their lives.
Small Business Saturday: Here Are 5 Facts You May Not Have Known
November 24, 2012 at 4:29pm
I live and have a small business in a small city. Our visitors bureau, chamber of commerce, and city have for many years promoted doing business local if and when we can. It’s a win win for all. Bring business to us and in turn we pay taxes and dues to support them. I produce, wholesale and retail products that I have developed. You might find something like it, but you won’t get my particular quality and customer service that my customers come back for. I appreciate the big bucks that American Express put behind this promotion, but yes their fees are much higher. Fortunately the idea has caught on and most of my customers skip the AmEx and go with the cheaper card or cash.
‘Dirty Trick’?: Santorum’s Surprise Robocall to Michigan…Democrats?
February 28, 2012 at 5:03am
I am disappointed that Rick pulled this tactic. I expected it from Mitt in the robocall that his PAC used a couple of weeks ago of Rick endorsing Mitt from 2008 campaign: http://www.freep.com/article/20120220/COL05/120220057/On-robocall-Santorum-endorsing-Romney-
