  Starman 4…Yeah, totally laughable….Note the position of the intakes as well. When the aircraft rotates to optimum AOA, intake air would be deflected by the chines resulting in a huge compressor stall….and that’s assuming the engines could get all the air they needed before rotation. Call it the Belchfire 313……Oh, the helmet, that’s an APH-6 dual visor just like the one I wore 40 years ago!!! LOL….What a bunch of Doofusses

  Well, having a few “traps” myself, it looks as tho’ they’ve been watching us pretty closely….Optical Landing System with maybe some laser augmentation are all state of the art. Ski Jump necessitates a lot of deck space and the price for that is cycle time. We’ll never hear about any “ramp strikes” but they will happen….and then there’s night ops. Most fun I ever had with my pants on….daytime landings. Hardest I’ve ever worked at avoiding the worst case scenario…..night carrier landings. Our Fast Attack guys are like “Oh Goody! some new Targets!! It’s a big ocean….Welcome to the club boys…..
