  I hate to say it, but as a veteran myself of the cold war and the first Gulf War, he is right in saying most did nothing heroic, of course many did, but the majority, while their service is honorable, did nothing deserving of being called heroic.

  I’ll go further by saying the majority of veterans only did what every American should do, serve their country in some way. Sadly that is not what happens, but I call them as I see them.

  Figures McCain would wear one, Just shows how screwed the Republican party is that he was the nominee for President, Romney was not hugely better but compared to McCain he’s Ronald Reagan.

  Frankly the government does not belong in marriage at all. If the Gays can find someone willing to perform the ceremony, then let them, and make damn sure they get the minuses of marriage as well as the pluses.

  On the other side of the coin the churches had better be allowed to say no wedding here as well. I for one would not belong to a church that would perform the ceremony, but I have no real problem if they can find someone willing.

  My biggest fear, and one I foresee happening is when a church says no, the gay couple will file a lawsuit, and the government, under chairman Obamao will try and force churches to do them anyway.

  While people like Chet who says no state would have a majority wishing to secede are indeed correct, that could change quickly, all it would take would be for a harsh backlash from the federal government in regards to those that did wish it. Suddenly people would wake up.

  Or it could be something as simple as the economy rapidly going into the toilet, which is not on possible, but probable under the current administration. So never say never!

  @Moderation, trying to compromise has gotten us into the terrible situation we are in now, it’s time for extreme. We have bent over backwards to compromise, would you have us bend over forwards as well?
