  • Thank You for your service to our country. I will pray that a job will come along soon for you.

  • This woman should be removed from office and should be forced to take a sensitivity course, as for the NAACP, I would be embarrassed to step into that big steaming pile of horse crap this councilwoman stepped into that day. Their is NO EXCUSE to treat a child like that, regardless of that child’s age, she interjected race into a subject that race should have not been interjected into. She is really what is wrong with the system, this child doesn’t need training, they need to be retrained that not everyone is a racist and after listening to this child’s description and she still made that comment I hope she looses her job.

  • I spoke to my sons pack leader yesterday and this article is incorrect. She spoke to our local council this week on the subject and they informed her, that the scouts will be leaving it up to the local council’s on wither or not to enforce any law’s on gays in the scouts. Basically in a nut shell because, there are so many troops that are affiliated with churches (up to 70% are), the scouts can’t enforce a blanket rule forcing all troops to participate on a pro-gay stance. They would be cutting off their nose to spite there face so, they have chosen the smart way out. They will give in and say that they will be open to gay’s but, leave it up to local council’s to accept the rule. So, in a city where they are more liberal you will see openly accepting scout groups but, in more christian area’s you won’t. I personally don’t have an issue with gays but, I know of several people who personally feel that their religion has been attacked by pro-gay groups that are interjecting their voices into conversations, that should be handled between the parents and the scouts, not the scouting org. and an outside group that don’t have any children involved in scouting. What they have done in the end as not open up a dialect between Christian’s and Gay’s but, slam the door in the face of those that live their lives to the letter of the Bible, again dividing our country even more then it already is.

Actually I spoke to my son’s Pack leader and yesterday and this article isn’t correct. She said because, so many troops are affiliated with churches, they won’t be able to make this rule effective for the entire scouting organization, instead they will give each councils the choice of what that group will or will not permit in their separate council’s. So, basically the scouts want to be left alone so, they are giving in and changing a verbal rule but, in the end leaving it up to the local council’s to accept the rule and they have the right on the local level to reject it. So, in more liberal area’s you may find it 100% accepting of gays in scouts but, in more christian area’s you may find it not accepting at all. I think it should be left up to the parent’s personally! Outside organizations interfering with a private organization that will concern other people’s children is WRONG! I don’t personally have an issue with gays myself but, I know people who are less likely to being accepting of a group if a 3rd party decides to shove their principles down their throat and tell them what they have to do with there children and they don’t have children of there own.

  • They shouldn’t show that picture, have some respect a child is dead. On the other hand I would love to see the picture of that guy who did this, getting a death sentence for what he did.

  • Unfortunately I have had some experience with my brother at a psychiatric facility (inpatient care limited term and ITU) the visitation hour’s are never convenient and are usually limited to one or two people at a time. The doctor always has the final say on who get’s into the facility for visitation and unfortunately on many occasions the person you are in a relationship with can be the cause of your inpatient treatment and on this occasion with these two people no one know’s that but, them what caused him to get treatment. From the statement above the patient has been in the hospital several times in the psychiatric unit which lead’s me to believe that he has issues other then normal depression that he is being treated for. Is it fair that he was excluded from visiting no but, you also have to take into consideration visiting a person in a psychiatric center is not the same as visiting a person at the hospital, in my case my sister in law was excluded from visiting my brother because, the doctor felt she was causing him more problems and the doctor left it up to us to tell her (because, he felt she would take it better hearing it from a family member). All I know is this having a person in your family that is mentally ill takes a toll on all family member’s and can turn friends into enemy’s quickly. The Psychiatric Center visiting hours:Adult & Intensive Treatment Unit (ITU) Only two visitors at a time please.Daily (including weekends and holidays) 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m

  • I think we all need to give Debbie a Pity Party, all together awwwwwwwww.

  • This could have been easily avoided with a medical power of attorney, that would have given his partner the authority to make medical decisions for him. Without that family has the last say in medical care, All he needed was a blank form that he could have got from an office supply store and a notary and it’s a legal binding contract.

  • If a person is physically or mentally Ill I have no problem with them collecting SSI or SSD but, I think they need more review’s of the case’s that they have. I worked with someone who has mental problems and collect’s disability (yes that is legal they can work) The disability this person collected offset’s the fact that this person couldn’t work full time (that was apparent) They were an emotional mess most of the time on the job (at any time this person felt stress they would start crying) but, I had to give them credit at least they were trying, that’s more then most people on disability do. After watching what my co-worker goes through it opened my eyes to the fact their are some people that truly need help.(I stress that some people).
