The employees stood together as a team, agreed upon a leader (the one who wrote it) and backed him with loyalty in the face of certain detrimental, and deeply personal consequences. Good integrity-based leadership followed by right actions while facing undue stress placed dignity, honor, fair treatment and the need for human kindness up against the almighty dollar. They acted on principle, while risking reputation, family harmony, and personal stability.
AND, their last thought was for those who would come behind them, imploring the miscreant boss to think before acting so badly towards another fellow human being. This exhibited unselfishness, love for self and others, and courage in the face of fear and uncertainty… all of which speaks of high moral character.
WOW!! These 3 should LEAD A COURSE for our President’s cabinet called “How to respond in ANY situation”.
Corporate should rehire them as managers over 3 difernt stores and train any new employees on each of the above. The stores sales would triple within 1 ‘back to school’ buying season as we human beings enjoy being treated with dignity, respect, and enjoy being considered kindly and treated fairly. Good word of mouth would spread fast, as any one person, much less 3 people, who exhibiIt all the above qualities in today’s “X” or as i call it “ME” generation are extremely rare.
"... in the face of certain detrimental, and deeply personal consequences."
Not sure that really applies to a retail job at a Journey store.
BINGO. We have a winner. Like Hobby Lobby and the Bakery that refused to bake a cake for 2 Lesbians that were marrying, sometimes the PRINCIPLE of the thing makes all the difference in the world FOR YOUR OWN SELF-WORTH/ESTEEM.
I read every single comment here on this one page and "onetrueword" was the ONLY answer that made any kind of sense to me from a character, or integrity point of view.
These 3 people who quit had very high standards, but not too high because they took it for some time before they thought it all thru and decided to quit. Personally, I APPLAUD THEM. I did the same thing once, only I quit because my boss was spending all the company's money, taking vacations, buying major personal purchases and all the while, laying off her employees. I decided to cut my losses and I found another job. My boss was furious and said some pretty nasty things about me to others, which were not true since I KNOW I HAVE A HIGH STANDARD OF CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY. I did not respond, but did not use her as a reference because I knew she would give me a negative review to my new employer. I was taught to never be-rate an ex-employer. Just move one. But, still, I applaud their tenacity and stand for what is RIGHT. If I had had someone above my boss, to go to, to air my grievances, I would have done that first, which I think these 3 should have done. It seems like they thought it out pretty well.
GOOD RESPONSE @onetrueword.

We must presume first that America has any REAL credibility presently in any part of the world. In my opinion, arrogant Obummer is using this D_ measuring contest (scared little boy) as an opp to try and regain what he certainly KNOWS is a total loss of credibility to anyone outside the terrorist Islamic factions, in hopes of regaining super-power (super-hero) status. After all, who would want to go down in history as the worst President ever? Problem: “It’s not about you, Mr. P.! You swore an oath to uphold the Constitution and serve the will of the people! You are not!”
Sadly, as he was born and raised a Muslim, guided by Sharia law, he is loyal to the cause of equaling the playing field for all. At war he will decimate any recent economic gains, at a fast clip of $1.5M per missle.
History ALWAYS repeats itself. We are humans in need of routine and stability to limit the ‘risks’ of life, preferring this to walking in love. Hmmm? See the Biblical definition of love in I Corinthians 13. Our “Leader’ is walking in anything but.
Have we such blatant disregard for lessons of the past? Today eerily reflects the Great Depression period from 1929-1941 when WW II began. Our nations’ GDP is but a wisp, the debt staggers the imagination with numbers so large NO ONE can even grasp the breadth and scope, and are thus anesthetized. We’ve become a welfare state, ‘slaves to the lenders’, and are being led like lambs to a slaughter by a “Leader’ with loyalty to
