Entitled due to serving in the Army during a war (Vietnam)…..read the whole passage. Under law anyone who serves in the military service can be granted citizenship for their service to our country, they even have a citizen ceremony at Basic for those becoming citizens. I’ve had the honor of watching one, a proud moment.

Going to say, sorry, check again. Alaska is a right to carry state. If you’re legal to own it, you’re legal to carry it. Open OR concealed.

Thus the wise adage: don’t spook the horses. People have been sensitized to believe guns equal crime, unless you wear a uniform you’re a bad guy. A gun is a tool, and like a hammer, if it’s in the wrong hands you can kill with it, but you don’t hear about people running screaming from a home depot.
Anyone can look at the statistics and compare Switzerland and Japan. In Switzerland, every male over 17 is not only expected, but required to train with their militia, and is ISSUED a rifle. Japan on the other hand is an island that bans all firearms. Is Switzerland the “wild west” of Europe? No, they were the only European nation not invaded during TWO world wars. Which one has more violent crimes? Duh, Japan. They have attacks in kindergarten classrooms involving knives.
Lesson: guns do not make people more violent, they help to maintain freedom from oppression.

If you read it in Hebrew, it’s Thou shall not murder, which of course, has an entirely different meaning. It’s a translation issue that lead to murder turning into kill.
But you’re not going to be convinced of anything.

I agree! I think she did a wonderful job with that video. When did it become a bad thing to be proud of your country, flag, military, etc. etc.etc. ?????? My husband is serving this country right now, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Hoorah Katy!

Wow, the Assistant State Attorney needs to rethink his opinion that these two outstanding people needed to be armed or kicking this guy’s butt before he was justified to use deadly force. AND way to go, over looking the fact one was drunk off his rocker, and the other was drugged out of his mind, yep….. in no way could they have posed a threat to this guy!~ (Sarcasm! and eye roll) I’m sure the ASA would just reason with them in the same position.
Lucky for this guy he did not reside in a liberal state
I'd like to know the last thoughts of the punks when the gun was pulled on them -- "OH Crap". When two big bullies come knocking, our friends Smith & Wesson can answer the door.
When seconds count, the police are only minutes away....
"Leave old men alone. They are too old to fight, so they will just kill you!"
Here is the People's Socialist Republic of California, he would have been convicted of murder and received the death penalty. The disparity between state laws regarding "justice" is shocking when it comes to self-defense: He would have been given a medal as citizen of the month in Texas, but in California, the death penalty or life in prison. If you believe in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, stay out of California and other radical states that believe all of your rights are collective rights.
There are TWO very important things coming out of this. Like the preceeding cases, the judge read the law correctly and ruled on the law. Which leads to the other and more important issue, Lawyers on eith side have been efectively prevented from arguing "case law" in the furture. Too often, criminal cases are take to court using case law instead of the actual law. Kuddo's to Florida
The two guys could've choked the man to death or maybe knocked him out, tied something heavy to his feet and thrown him overboard. You don't need a gun to kill somebody. Just ask Casey Anthony.
> Lucky for this guy he did not reside in a liberal state
I hope "luck" had nothing to do with it. I hope "this guy" lived where he does precisely because Florida has the kind of laws that respect his creator-endowed right to self protection.
I also hope that liberals and other progressives all end up together, so they can have the kind of place they prefer, and that they will leave the rest of us alone (Forlorn, hope, 'tis true, but a hope nonetheless.) Unfortunately, they tend to gather 'round the sanctuaries of freedom,. and then do their best to destroy them.
@thirdarchon, the only thing that stinks here is your analysis, which is completely wrong.
It is entirely possible to get two kill shots at 20 feet, even in a panic. Have you ever gone target shooting with a handgun? 20 feet is nothing! Most people, when holding the gun correctly, can get kill shots at 20 feet without much practice. Your analysis is incorrect.
The man was in his sixties. The two men were very large, hulking men. One was three times past drunk, and the other was on a mixture of illegal drugs. When you have larger men, they do have a higher testosterone level. When you mix testosterone with high levels of alcohol or drugs, you get a very violent, potent, and yes, very lethal combination.
Have you never heard of anyone getting beat to death? Really?
As for evidence, THEY ARE ON A BOAT!!! They simply sail the boat out to sea, dump the body, bleach out the boat, and no more evidence. Even a drunk idiot and a stoned out moron can tell you that. In fact, a drunk idiot and a stoned out moron would think of that.
You wouldn't because of how smart you are.
You got the whole thing wrong.
Do you understand that once someone starts approaching you inside of 20 feet, you do not have time to draw your weapon and fire. Every police officer knows this. The man had to act. They could have killed him with their strength alone. He had nothing but his gun to protect him. He did just that. They died.
He was right. You were wrong. Sorry. But truth is tr
Why are you arguing with a troll? ;-)
it gets a little old having to defend yourself for defending yourself. police and others who bring such charges should have to pay some sort of personal penalty. if they had to be responsible for their actions they might think twice.
In the world we seem to live in,packin is the way to go. It doesn't say the ages of these two thugs against a 65 yr.old and harm they meant to do no doubt, figured him an easy target and perhaps bully him into giving up the boat eh? Super spot on outcome!
Oh, yeah, living in Massachusetts if that happened to me I'd be screwed.
The 'perps' were doped and drunk; not a good combination;
One of the guys was a professional wrestler. If a huge guy who was wasted was threatening me, I wouldn't hesitate to pull out a gun and point it at him. If he didn't back off, I'm pretty sure I'd start pulling the trigger.
"Monahan’s attorney, however, told the court that Monahan explicitly stated from the outset he was afraid for his life, and felt he had no option other than to defend himself."
That's enough for me. I have every intention of using the same criteria before deciding to shoot. If I am afraid -- if my knees are shaking, my aim will be steady. Nuff said.
So glad that I live in FL .. someone breaks into my home I don't have to wait to be raped or disabled before I send them straight to H!
Fortunate he didn't shoot them with a gun from Fast and Furious, drug lord re-armament program Barry and the boys were behind. Holder at the DJ,already has enough blood on his hands!
I'm in the process of moving from CA to FL, it looks like I'm making the right move, especially as I am a gun owner and believe in defending myself.
Good for him...it is self defense and everyone has this right in America...if more people used guns against thugs like this we would have less crime.
The 64 year old man would have saved himself a lot of trouble if he would have used "the three shot rule", you know, one in the middle to slow him down, one between the eyes, to stop the chance of a lawsuit and a third one in the roof or off two oneside. Somebody that is listening doesn't know which order the shots were fired. Honestly Sir! "I gave them a warning shot but they kept on comming".
As a 72 year old former combat Marine I aplaud Mr. Manohan for standing up to the two threatening bullies that thought just because he was old, he was a push over. I'd like to be able to hear their last thoughts when Manohan pulled out his gun and started blazing away. I'm a Texan and I was on a business trip in February of 2008 in Jacksonville Florida. I have a concealed weapon permit in Texas but always carry my 380 Colt automatic in my car wherever I go. I was minding my own business at a self service car wash off Blanding Blvd when I suddenly became a person of interest to a car load of young black men.
They began calling me names like "old man" and "gray haired old honky fool " and a few others I can't write on facebook. I tried to ignore them but when they decided to approach me I drew down on them with my 380 Colt automatic. That stopped them in their tracks. A couple of them must of received a spurt of adrenaline because they suddenly started my way again. I let fly with a half clip( of eight rounds) just over their heads. I couldn't see anything but dust and all I heard were loud screeching from the tires of their car and one hollering "your a crazy old man" and I yelled back, " "Yea, a might be, but I'm a live crazy old man." Ha Love that Stand Your Ground Florida law. Every state should have it. Semper Fi...
Yeah, you see, you have to wait until you are getting your head kicked in by intoxicated freaks and drug addicts and your brains are flowing out of your eyes and ears before you have the right to self defense with, "god forbid" a firearm. (sarc)
Glad to see the judge get's this one right. No reason, especially after this many months, for the 2 dead guys to be even close to this boat and man other then to cause harm. Kudos to the man who had the gun and knew how to defend himself with it. :)
Sarcasm, my middle name. Out did your self on the eye roll, more than you'd get from a teenager when a "oldster" says something "hip"(?).
Isn't it considered piracy to board a boat without permission?
Good for him. Take a lesson thugs, Americans are not afraid to live
The law of the constitution.
Actually the laws about self defense in Texas are pretty anti-gun. There have been countless cases of people convicted of murder in Texas for defending themselves and/or their property.
This should be the law of the land. Everyone other than criminals and people trying to take the law into their own hand would be safer. Something must be done to force criminals and angry people to think twice before attacking someone who may be armed. Think twice should be the motto of this law.
Nice pic, a Tiki from Infinity Firearms.

And BIG SIS is the authority on privacy, riiiiiiiight. If you believe that I have a nice, new , shiny, never been used bridge to sell ya! Forgive me for not taking you at your word moron!
Sorry you did not get my point about about the spirit and the body. The verses you posted do not speak against it. In fact they make it. I know these verses. You continue to speak AT me, instead of asking what I meant. Do you always treat people with disrespect as you throw bible verses at them. I do not believe that is the way we are to HANDLE the Word of God!
Why did you not respond to my reply back? Instead you bring something into the discussion that is irrevelant. I know why people usually do that. I was not born ten days ago in spite of what you may think.
Pride has nothing to do with my current beliefs(understanding) concerning heaven or hell. Now you falsly accuse me of something...Look to thine own eyes first..... Don't consider yourself better then you should..... I am always open to being corrected or learning more, so you could not be more wrong .Do you always try to make enemies of your brothers?.... be Blessed, you need it as much as me.
YO @4Truth2U............Yo Greenwood:
Sorry you did not get my point about about the spirit and the body.
We are not spirits in the body. The spirit to the body is like electricity to a radio. When you pull the plug where does the electricity go ? Also you don't have a soul you are a soul. Many people think the two are the same. Genesis 2 : 7...............and the man came to be a living soul.
STILL talking at me... still trying to be right?
I admitted to my own pride'
I admitted that I might not have all the answers
I admitted that I might be incorrect ( I stand before God with what I said)
Said I was willing to learn
No disrespect... but you SEEM incapable of humility, you had a number of opportunities to show it and you missed it. You still did not answer my simple question to you of ...where is the Rich Man, and where is Lazarus. If you can not do this....end of discussion.... go find a mirror... I enjoy speaking WITH someone, can you manage it? .......FROM 4Truth2u... doesn't work for you either. Now you TRY to insult me...boy you really are setting a Christ like example!!!
What's wrong with you?
You ask for your questions to be answered but can't seem to answer anyone else's questions. And you seem incapable of acknowledging a very clear explanation of matters when the Bible is clearly quoted.
Lazarus and the rich man; where are they? They are nowhere, they are an illustration. A made up story to teach through word pictures. There is no illustrated Lazarus, rich man, or your beloved hellfire. Even this old trucker knows this, so come on, get with it.
Yo Old Trucker:
DID YOU READ ALL THE POSTS CONCERNING THIS DISCUSSION?
I respectfully ask you what questions did I not answer ?
Concerning my inabilities to acknowledge the clear explanation of matters when the bible is clearly quoted, I do not know what you are refering to. The issue at hand is that we do not believe the same thing concerning hell. I understand the words of the bible, disagree on the meaning.
As far as the parable... I believe I explained CLEARLY a couple of times, even using the meaning from the dictionary of a parable. The story ( parable) is used to explain the truth of how things will be. I NEVER, ANYWHERE SAID THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS WERE REAL PEOPLE.
I could throw some stuff back in your face here but I will not do that.
In all due respect to you this was not your discussion. (I know it is an open forum)
I will answer any question concerning this discussion and anytime I am asked. I suggest that you read more carfully next time, because you sure seemed to miss alot.
I again ask, what question/s did I not answer? ( since your here now)
Truth4U2.........Lazarus and the rich man; where are they? They are nowhere, they are an illustration. A made up story to teach through word pictures. There is no illustrated Lazarus, rich man, or your beloved hellfire. Even this old trucker knows this, so come on, get with it.
It would seem the Old Trucker gets it.
Jesus was talking to those religious leaders who like you and ancient Babylon believed there is a hell.
That's why Babylon is the Empire of false religion in the book of Revelation. Like I said believe what you want. Revelation 12: 9 ..............Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited erath;.....
Should I call you deadwood?
First I am glad that you are still talking.
I would like to say that if I have offended you, I apologize. My purpose here is NOT to argue it is to reason. My purpose is to the truth of God's Word. NOT WHAT I THINK. Therefore, it is NOT my "beloved hellfire". I do not wish or want there to be a hell. I do NOT tell God about Him. I let Him tell me.
I will again say: that a parable by it's own definition is a story that depicts a true situation, event or fact. Why would Jesus tell a story that had/s no basis in truth? Would you then say that ALL the parables were just bedtime stories?
Concerning Old Trucker... he seems like a fine person that agrees with you. Majority doesn't rule!
I spoke with 3 Pastors who are my presonal friends, I have been involved in leading and teaching youth (teenagers) for 15 years. I say this not to boast but to indicate that I am not a novice. I was willing to give you the benifit of some doubt (not much). This is why I spoke with the pastors. These three men are all men of God who seek His truth, and keep to what the bible teaches.
I fully understand that hell is difficult to understand or comprehend comming from a loving God.Knowing that a loved one many be there because of their refusal to repent and believe is not a pleasent thought. My pastor, who also sits on the Board of the program I direct ,made a good point that I knew but forgot. Those in hell are there because they did not what
(cont.) to repent.
So, does God send them there or is it actually their choice.
In Revelation; during the time of the bowls being poured out (the wrath of God), there is a verse that says... and still the inhabitants of the earth refuse to repent. God, in his love, is actually wanting them to do this. BUT THEY REFUSE. They hate God and do not want to be in His kingdom. Those in hell actually get what they want.
Please read Matthew 25:31-46... PLEASE NOTICE verse 46 especially, it is here that you have both side by side. As I have said; I could put verse after verse, story after story, old and new testement. I chose not to do this by the leading of the spirit.
My suggestion to you is this.... do your own study of hell and all references to it. I have.
In all humility I have walked a trail of 10 miles and you 5. I am telling you about the five you have not walked, but you insist that I do not know of what I speak. Not only that, but if I understand your implications, you are compairing me to Babylon and satan. This is a dangerous statement by you, foolish at the least. I speak with the spirit of the Lord and the truth of His Word, and you compair me to the devil? If I were you I would give serious thought to that statement and repent to God because you have at the least falsely accused me. I know what a mature follower of Chirst responce would now be. Your reply will indicate where on that trail you are.
I have spoken ALL in Love!
You say Jesus was speaking to the "religious leaders " I believe that is only partically true.
Luke 16: 19-31 is the parable... at verse14 it mentions the Pharisees (religious leaders). Please go to Luke 15:1-2 where it says that He is talking to ...tax collectors and "sinners", it also mentions the Pharisees. This would clearly indicate that he is talking to ALL people. Not a specific group. Let it say what it says. Do not add or subtract from it as God warns us not to do.....be blessed.

How about these guys give up their salaries they get from ‘representing the people’ and donate it to the programs that the ‘racist’ tea party is ‘taking’ away from poor people. Put your money where your mouth is and financially support these programs yourself. Won’t do that? Why not? That’s right, you know how best to spend other peoples’ money better than they do. West should run as far and as fast from these racists as he can.
Ha ha ha. In the greatest traditions of partisan politics, he is conjuring up gut-wrenching visuals of racial injustice to battle his worthy TEA party opponents. LOL, Tee hee.
And in the greatest traditions of partisan journalism, this article paints a nasty race baiting picture that is meant to get the TEA party up in arms exactly the same way! Ha ha ha
Yeah sure, he's an American - NOT!
These people don't want to help the black people that voted for them they want to use them as pawns to continue to keep them in office. If they spent as much time working for their voters instead of talking the black people wouldn't have the problems and attitudes they have.
We as kids used to hang in the trees all the time. I would like to see Al Sharpton, Alcee, Barry and Andree, Maxine,, and all the rest of the CBC, hanging in a tree. Not From a tree but in the tree . They could have hung In on of my trees thru Irene , and communed with nature at it's finest.
ACLUHATER: "N" word. This is sophomoric. You are better than this. Make an intelligent argument and stop acting like a 5th grader.
@ Daz... dont you know yet, the people commenting on here with hate are all leftists trying to entice a real TP advocate to agree... This stupidity works for the democrites cause they all share one brain and thus think the exact same thought on any and every topic.
@PAUI You would be correct, I can't tell one lib from another, close your eyes and they are all the same. That's amazing, how do they do that?

I was simply impressed by how this young man conducted himself, with honor, as I am sure he will serve. He didn’t throw a fit, as one might feel is justified, but with dignity beyond his years. Be safe and congratulations to you both!
