all it will take is one gun going off at the right time and it will be Ukraine part two
War, I fear your right.

There is no such thing as an “insane profit” in a free market. The price is what people are willing to pay. Movie goers are willing to pay the prices offered. They do not have to purchase snacks. They choose to do so at their discretion. “The term “insane profits” is a liberal talking point only. One which I wholeheartedly reject.
That's right, we have freedom to buy or not to buy.

Rather like paying $29K for a beanie baby?
I agree. You're not paying for the popcorn. You're paying for the experience. I'm sure the markup was just as bad when I was a kid. I wouldn't undo it if I could.
The concessions used to make a lot more money when they were allowed to use “cotton oil” to cook the popcorn. In addition to making the popcorn taste better it was the cooking cotton oil smell that people associate with theater popcorn..not the melting butter. Someone decided that cotton oil was a horrible trans fat (in reality it wasn’t) but nowadays the concessions use vegetable oil which costs more and doesn’t taste as good. The best markup was in iced tea. You can make a thousand gallons of it with about 99 cents worth of tea. In fact the worst cost of iced tea was the lemons or limes you sliced up..
I don't buy them, I sneak them in! It's great to be a woman with a big purse!
I disagree completely. Marking something up by 10+ times what it costs absolutely generates an insane profit.
One has to be at least partially insane to go to a movie theater and pay $15 for a bag of popcorn and a soda on a regular basis.
What I would take issue with is someone calling an insane profit a bad thing. Like you said, people are willing to pay it. Why should they charge any less if these prices work?
But to say it isn’t insane… to say calling it that is inaccurate... I disagree with that completely.
@Mizurax: I think that’s what he is getting at by his inclusion of the word “insane”. He’s just targeting liberal talking points that blabber on about how much profit some companies make when people willingly agree to pay those amounts. What is rather insane is liberal talking points that spew how much in million/billions company XYZ made in profits which is meaningless by itself without comparing to its overall operating revenues and expenses.
This video is very accurate. I used to work in a theater for several years. Particularly of interest is the point that without these “insane profits”, the theaters would sink. Theaters receive a small portion of the income from movie tickets themselves, in a steadily increasing percentage as the movie stays in the theater for longer, while it of course makes less and less overall.

State nullification, short and sweet.

I am sure Michelle Obama will roll out a new and healthy “Theater Snack Menu” that should bring the prices down.
Yeah, saltless AND butterless popcorn. Or maybe she'd limit theaters to plain rice cakes.

How do you know they are white? The article does not say their race. I would assume as you they are. If the students were “People of Color” there would be outrage at the Veterans for not checking their “White Privilege” at the resort.

Had they not been operating against city codes we would have never heard of this story. The desert is littered with the corpses of dead illegal children that we never hear about but break a city code and now you got problems Amigo.
