15/15 because of attending school decades before common core as well. However, my wife and I have made it a point to vacation around this great country of ours and teach our children.

“Chirp, chirp silence ribbit, ribbit” congress continue to sleep.
When will our elected officials stand up to this administration that apparently doesn’t have any problem(s) violating the U. S. Constitution?
IT’S TIME TO WAKE UP AMERICA!!!
Bueller? Bueller? ….
I guess we better start getting ready to increase our Vodka consumption, based on the voter turn out over the past few years.

Here’s a thought. Because the TEA party has/is/will be pounded on again and again by the drive by media maybe they should change their name to the Taxed Enough Already party and quit using the term TEA. Thoughts?

You need to check your numbers, those numbers reflect after the initial spending was made. In other words, like this administration, you moved the “goal pole” then began to count additional money being spent. Go away with your propaganda!!

A law should be passed that states if you receive welfare then you cannot vote in any election due to a direct conflict of interest. In order to receive welfare, you agree to be subjected to drug testing and will receive your welfare check upon passing said drug test.

Agreed. “We The People” must rise up and fire our current Commander-in-Chief. Everyone contact their Congressional Representatives and declare a vote of no confidence.

It was Carter who invaded Iran not Reagan

Active duty members will not speak out about this issue or any issue if they want to continue their careers. That is the reality of today’s culture in the Military. Too many forced retirements/separations.

“ON OMAHA BEACH
“From my prone position the beach rose like a steep, barren hillside.
There was a stretch of sand, being narrowed by the minute by the tide.
Then a sharply rising bank of small, smooth stones that ended at the seawall. Against the shingle bank and wall were men of the first wave.
Some were scooping out holes; a number were stretched out in the loose attitude of the wounded; others lay in ultimate stillness. I could see only the upper portion of the house, its mansard roof gaping with shell holes. I could not make out the exit road, but we had come in not far from our appointed place. There were luckier sites but also unluckier ones.”
In this excerpt Cawthon reflects on one result of the initial 24 hours in combat.
“Of all the capacities that the years diminish, none leaves a greater void than that of the youthful ability for easy friendship without the questioning and restraints that complicate those of later life. I feel a void now in looking back upon the friends gone that day. Together we had been through months and years of wartime discomforts and strain; marched countless tedious miles; lived in mud and dust; heat and cold. The battalion dominated our time and efforts. Then it all came down to this brief first day of battle, and for them it all ended, and for the rest of us I believe that what has been since has not been exactly the same.”
Just an FYI, full version found here...
To the Bedford Boys, thank You.
My Uncle Bill, flew Spitfires over England and the continent. He flew over the beaches on D-day, over France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. One day "while flying along minding my own business the Krauts shot me down!".
He landed in front of the American lines and was rescued, under fire, from German capture by a couple of G.I.'s who ribbed him about his landing technique. As the Americans didn't know what to do with him, he accompanied them for a few days. Days that included the liberation of one of the larger concentration camps.
He came home a changed man, haunted by what he had seen in the camp for the rest of his life. But he always wanted to find the two G.I.'s who rescued him and to thank them personally. So on behalf of my uncle, a decorated squadron leader and a hell of a guy, thank you G.I.'s! You saved a damned fine man and he never forgot.
Go for it. And the US should then remove all military bases along with all federal spending. Texas should then pay back the US for any investment in airports, shipping terminals, VA hospitals. Medicare and Medicaid payments to hospitals should end and of course all aid to education, including federal loans. Something tells me the BS economics noted above didn't take in to consideration what might be lost.
Response to JRook:
Did you not get the fact that Texas Pays into Federal Government more than it gets back??? Texas takes that money and supports its own medicare/medicaid programs, much more efficiently than the Federal Government ever could.
Rook...We could also hang all idiots like you on main street. Burn all Federal buildings and most off all kick all the illegals out into your state!!! Payback is hell, so payback you would get.
The US dollar is collapsing.....your funny money is losing value everyday. If you want to stay on the titanic you can..... secession is the best thing for Texas. The real US debt (unfunded guarantees) are in the 100's of trillions.
God Bless Texas.....
I'll tell you what,.. I would become a resident of Texas if so. Our Federal Government/Obama are out of control and need to be reigned in.
Yeah@JROOK...the USA would loose most of its oil refineries....
JRook, I think what Pathdan might be referring to is that the economic collapse of the country is inevitable, and therefore nothing you have listed will be really around in much of a capacity anyway. Only during a financial collapse would such an attempt be seriously undertaken anyway. The financial collapse also lessens the ability of the federal government to oppose the separation of Texas militarily.
I hope they figure out how to do it.God Bless Texas. We in CA can only watch with envy.
Hey JROOK, you missed one important little fact. Texas pays MORE to the federal government than it receives. Take your federal money and shove it.
JROOK: does the term "nationalize" sound familiar? Happens a lot to US assets, you should be used to it.
You are BS applying the argument one way, what the US Government helped build *IN* Texas, it does not go the other way and say what Texas money built *IN* the rest of the country. What happens in a situation like this is it's usually considered 'a wash' and both sides just let whatever is owed to the other be forgiven. Likely, whatever debt Texas has financially will be fully owned by Texas and not underwritten by the United States anymore. Strangely, given the superior state of the Texas economy, it would probably get a better credit deal than the US currently does.
Texas would have a much higher burden to bear if it left, being a country isn't the same as being a state but the advantage is: it controls everything from then on! It would have to pay for a military, (probably along the lines of Canada, taking advantage of US protection zones) and all those services. Knowing Texans though, this would be just fine with them.
Dream on. Like it or not the reality is we are stronger as a single country than Texas could ever be alone. Secession is a romantic notion but it will never happen. Unless you think the average Texan is willing to go to war with the US to break away and sacrifice MANY of their sons and daughters in the process. Things in this country are bad but bad enough to see this as a worth while price? I think not.
To Bad lrook they call that the spoils of WAR.
Check out the prog Jrook. He is so stupid he just can't do the math. News flash you prog-they don't need "money" (ha right) from DC. DC is ripping them off. Would you like someone taking your money and then tossing you a couple of quarters and saying "here's your share"? You can spot a freeloading govt egg sucking prog a mile away.
What? Do you think the rest of us are just going to sit there and watch as Texas fights the Feds? We will all be dragged into it. Sides will be taken. It will be the prog freeloaders against the patriots. See you on the battlefield pal.
Believe me Texas would also eventually taking surrounding states. Stop for a while then take the other red states and 3/4 of California. Many of you will perish in the war.
JROOK ...is but just another kool-aid drinking , cable educated moron , not worth our time ...Next !
Oh but he would be one of the first trying to get into the 'truly Golden State ' TEXAS ' !
My Adopted home State of Arkansas has awaken to the lies that the Demon-rats have been telling them. For a long time now I have been bewildered to the fact that Arkansas votes in a ton of Demon-rats at the state level but vote Republican Presidents. That is all changed now thank GOD I wondered if I had made a mistake moving here from Colorado. I hope that with our help Texas will succeed and allow Arkansas to join. A lot of other States will join the fight. We have a ton of Natural Gas to throw in the pot. Not to mention Arkansans are Cowboys Fans!!!!! (Except me Broncos Baby!!!) :)
JROCK - Take your government handouts when you leave. The GDP of Texas will sky rocket once we tell the EPA and Energy department to stuff their Gulf of Mexico regulations. It becomes open drilling off our shores and we'll start opening our gas reserves. We can create our own Army and will have the technology and resources to develop the latest Nukes and Missile Defense Systems. We won't squander our defense spending to police the world. You can do that. With our energy supply and a true free enterprise environment, we will steal what manufacturing is left in the rest of the country.
Not only would Texas be A-Ok, we also have guns of our own and 1 out 3 of our citizens have served in at least one branch of the armed forces or is related to someone who has. We also still believe in God the Almighty and have a church on just about every corner (hence our success). We already have a King and his name is Jesus Christ. We keep it simple with the rules as we acknowledge the top 10 with pride. The men act like men and the women act like women and we still say howdy, please and thank you. We are a family and what ever happens we will be Texans first and we will not go down with out a fight, if that what it comes down to. You only find yellow on the flowers in Texas.
And since Texas sits on a big chunk of the country's oil and natural gas reserves, not to mention the fact that we have at least 25% of the refinery capacity, maybe you'll enjoy paying $12 a gallon for gas. lol
let's just leave NOW!!!
live or die TEXAN.
@JRook, Shhhhh! Don't tell them! Perhaps we can convince them to secede before they figure it all out. LOL
Exactly JROOK. Perry could pay back that $7ishB he took in stimulus funds to balance his 2010 budget, close the public schools, military bases, libraries, parks, end services and benefits to children, the poor, the elderly, which will starve funding for hospitals, medical staff...oh yeh, btw, look at his 2013 budget :)
Texas gives more money to the Fed than it gets back. So what. It is all fiat money. Any US money in Texas after secession would be even more worthless than it is now. Fiat money doesn't even make good toilet paper. Does Texas have the gold reserves to back the money of the Republic of Texas? Will the world accept oil as the currency reserve instead of gold?
You know engineers use the phrase "pipe dream" when they are not sure what the full process will be. Pipe dream comes from the world of opium users. Enjoy your pipe dream.

Benghaz? Move along, nothing to see here….

This whole business about drones not being able to provide actionable intelligence is just BS. I thought that the whole purpose behind drones was to gather intelligence without risking human lives. Just say’in!!
November 15, 2012 at 11:59am
Americans must demand answers, from this administration for Benghazi. The Main Stream Media lacks the conviction to do so. Everyone contact their Congressman/woman and Senators demand answers. The media and the administration want this to go away. Wonder why???

LTC West is an American Hero who has shown leadership, integrity, and honor. We share’d the same Area of Operations (AO) in 2003 and would do the same today! Stay the course Allen, the Nation is watching!
