  • @Moa – Spoken like a progressive. We are a land of LAWS and not men. She was breaking the law and therefore must suffer the consequences.

  • @drs1969
    Please read the entire thing.

“General rule.- On every roadway that is wide enough, a vehicle shall be driven on the right half of the roadway, except: … Special rule for slow-moving traffic.- On every roadway, except while overtaking and passing another vehicle going in the same direction or when preparing for a lawful left turn, any vehicle going 10 miles an hour or more below the applicable maximum speed limit or, if any existing conditions reasonably require a speed below that of the applicable maximum, at less than the normal speed of traffic under these conditions, shall be driven in the right-hand lane…”

Conditions were such that she had to go below the speed limit and therefore MUST BE IN THE RIGHT LANE.

Personally, I would have given her a warning but we don’t know if she already had other warnings or tickets. The “fast lane” is in fact the passing lane. It has been a long time since I was in Maryland but I know in PA that it is posted on the highways “Drive in the right and pass in the left” so I can make the same argument for Maryland. It is a fact that one must be in the right land unless one is PASSING another car.

  • The officer was correct in issuing the ticket.

    Maryland Law:
§ 21-301. Driving on right side of roadway; exceptions.

    (a) General rule.- On every roadway that is wide enough, a vehicle shall be driven on the right half of the roadway, except:
    (1) While overtaking and passing another vehicle going in the same direction, under the rules governing this movement;

    (5) On a roadway that is marked or signposted in a manner indicating that a contrary rule exists.
    (b) Special rule for slow-moving traffic.- On every roadway, except while overtaking and passing another vehicle going in the same direction or when preparing for a lawful left turn, any vehicle going 10 miles an hour or more below the applicable maximum speed limit or, if any existing conditions reasonably require a speed below that of the applicable maximum, at less than the normal speed of traffic under these conditions, shall be driven in the right-hand lane then available for traffic or as close as practicable to the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway.

  • @The_Jerk – I realize that many Socialists and Communists (as well as general Progressives) are ethnically Jews. I don’t deny that fact but people tend to just lump all Jews into the Progressive camp. Yes, Marx began Communism but he was also an atheist and hated Jews and Judaism. Soros is an atheist and hates Jews and Judaism. I would bet that the vast majority of Progressive Jews hate Jews and Judaism and are in fact atheists.

Judaism is a verb. None of these atheists are “Jewish” but are, rather unfortunately, born into a family of Jews. It makes more sense to blame atheism than to blame the “Jewish ethnicity” of the individuals involved. Of course, I would not blame atheists either for not all atheists are Progressives but many Progressives are atheists.

When you and others spout off about the Jews who run Hollywood or run the Progressive machine it smacks of bigotry. I hope you don’t mean it that way but it sure sounds an awful lot like bigotry. Go ahead and point out the hypocrisy of these Jews/Atheists. That is something they earned but don’t try and pin Progressive/Socialist/Communist ideologies upon the Jewish world as a whole.

  • @The_Jerk – In general I don’t feed the trolls but what the heck….

So what if the guy is Jewish? Yes, many in the Jewish world are, unfortunately, Progressive. I have my thoughts and theories about why this is but I won’t go into that right now.

    Just so you know…..
I came OUT of the Progressive arena when I embraced my Judaism. I consider myself an Independent Libertarian. There are many Jews out there who are Conservative or Libertarian. So, please (and I know this will fall on deaf ears) stop putting all Jews into the Progressive camp. It is just as disingenuous as putting all Blacks or Latinos into the Progressive camp.

  • @redfish52 – Your are quite right. Alinsky would have a field day with this.

  • @RAGEAGAINSTTHEMACHINE – That is why, after watching the first two episodes, I stopped watching the show. There was just way too much sex for me to be even remotely interested. The program/writers are free to write such stuff but I won’t watch it.

And yes…the writers definitely want the viewers to root for the KGB. I knew that was part of the trick so I rooted for the FBI knowing full-well that the FBI were made to look incompetent. It really hasn’t been long enough to have such a series. The Cold War is still going on it is just that some of the surface rules have changed. I lived through the 1970s and 1980s when Communism was very real. In my own mind, Socialism and Communism are even more of a threat than they were in the last century.

No, I am afraid that I will not be watching this show any longer. I thought I would give it a try but I found it very distasteful and poorly written.

  • Just a few facts….
    1. The tallit (prayer shawl) is NOT a male clothing article.
    2. Women are NOT forbidden from wearing the tallit or tzitzit (fringes) according to halachah (Jewish law).
    3. It is some of the MEN at the Kotel who are the ones making problems where problems don’t exist.
    4. The Women of the Wall are respectful and only wish to fulfill the mitzvot of prayer.
    5. The Kotel it open to every faith yet the HOLIEST place – the Temple Mount – is closed to anyone but Muslims except for very specific, limited times (and even then non-Muslims are NOT permitted to pray on the Temple Mount).
    6. Yes, most of the women involved are part of the Reform and Conservative sects of Judaism but there are also ORTHODOX women who participate.
    7. These arrests are nothing but harassment by the Orthodox ruling class in Israel.

  • I believe that God does speak to some people in various ways. Sometimes it is audible and sometimes it is just a feeling while at other times it is a physical sensation. For me personally, no, God has never spoken to me. I am one of those people that is completely unworthy of God speaking to me.

I also don’t think that we are all here for a purpose. If I thought God could make mistakes then He would have made a number of mistakes. However, since God cannot make mistakes then some of us are here simply to take up space. This is the only conclusion that I can come to for those of us who have no talents and no gifts.

I think God must only speak to those who have a purpose in life. Since I am not in this category God does not speak to me.

(BTW, I am Jewish so no I don’t believe in Jesus or the Holy Spirit — I converted out of Christianity many years ago and I am perfectly happy that I did so.)

  • This is totally awesome!

Doc Thompson is a great radio personality. He really knows his stuff and is not afraid to tell you like it is. :D
