Stunning Video Lets You Pretend You’re Riding Along in an F-16 With the ‘Flying Fiends’
May 8, 2013 at 7:52pm
They’re worthless crap.
See, here is what the JCS says about them:
In February, the Joint Chiefs chairman, Gen. Martin Dempsey, was asked by Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-New Hampshire, why F-16s at Aviano Air Base in Italy weren’t deployed to Benghazi that night.
“This is the middle of the night now, these are not aircraft on strip alert,” Dempsey said. “They’re there as part of our commitment to NATO and Europe. And so, as we looked at the time line , it was pretty clear that it would take up to 20 hours or so to get them there. Secondly, senator, importantly, it was the wrong tool for the job.”

So if it would take 20 hours, what good are they? I say we sell them all to the Muslim Brotherhood.
‘Spectacular’ Helicopter Landing Shows It Balancing on…a Highway Guardrail
May 2, 2013 at 9:38pm
I should have said, not that hard if you know what you are doing AND have a good crew chief. It helps to have someone talking you down on something like that because looking over your shoulder at a narrow target like that makes it hard to pick up the clues you need to judge distance.

It’s not that hard if you know what you are doing, but it still looks pretty cool. I’ve done similar stuff in helicopters. One of the great things about them: they are a lot of fun to fly. :)
Explosive Report Contradicts the Obama Administration’s Benghazi Story in a Big Way

And at the risk of kicking a man when he’s down, jeff – do cops and firemen go into “unknown situations”? I think they do. If Mayor McFacist claimed they didn’t, would you believe him? I think you would.

Jeff seems to be having some trouble answering my questions, so I will give him what should be a much, much easier question:
Give me a single example in all of human history where a military commander 3,000 miles away had more information about a military engagement than Barack Hussein Obama had on Sept. 11th, 2013.

Oh, and let’s not forget – there were a myriad of support options that did not involve insertion of combat troops. They were virtually risk free. Armed drones, Spooky gunships, Naval gunfire, CAS – yet we not only did not attempt them, we apparently did not even consider them.
It isn’t a question of “were they lying”, it’s a question of “just how big of a mouth breathing moron do you have to be to believe a single thing they said”.

Yeah, jeff, it’s kind of scary when – like this SO – you KNOW those people were lying. Unfortunately there just aren’t that many people who HAVE done this stuff for a living.
I did.
They were lying.
Tell me this: You claim we NEVER send troops into an unknown situation. How much information did we have about the Bin Laden compound? Did we have a team of Seals on site feeding real time info? Of course not. We knew nothing compared to what we knew in Benghazi.
Yet we sent troops in to conduct a combat operation in friendly nation.
That claim is simply a bald faced lie.
But that’s fine – prove me wrong. Give me an example where we haven’t sent troops in because all we had was real time intel from trained intelligence operatives.

@jeffs63 – a) What was unknown? You had a team of SEALs on site feeding real time intel to higher headquarters. You had a surveillance drone overhead feeding real time video to the White House. Never in human history could a commander have sent troops into battle with better intel. b) BS. We send troops into unknown situations ALL THE TIME. c) I was a member of the 26th MEU(SOC) during the first Gulf War. We were tasked with planning the evacuation of virtually every Embassy in North Africa. We could have launched in less than 2 hours with far, far less information than this. They had a secured LZ, for God’s sake! IT DOESN”T GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT for a non-permissive insertion.
In short – You do not have a flipping clue what you are talking about.
