if the federal government wants it so bad for gay marriage to happen in the states, let the federal government issue the marriage license.
let the federal government provide the benefits.
let the federal government put up their own institution to deal with the mess they created if people decide to divorce.

Moses was a murderer. David was a adulterer and schemed to kill the husband in battle. Abraham was a liar. Jacob was a deceiver. Samson was a fornicator. Solomon worshipped other gods and married many women and kept concubines. None of the people in the bible were perfect, yet God used them.
what is your point?
ping- the message of Jesus was the gospel of Grace, unmerited and undeserved forgiveness. This is the false gospel of prosperity and plenty. Christ never promised that, he promised life and in full. This dude is giving a false hope, not a foundation on God and his truth.
The point is that God used these me to teach his word. Joel Osteen does not teach God's word. That my friend is the difference.
Yes God used all those people and they were changed as the old man died off and they became a new man once they repented (turning from sin) and believed in Jesus. I don't see Osteen changing or redeeming himself as a Pastor. You cannot drink from the cup of devils and the cup of the Lord and sit at the Lord's table.
I love it ! Someone that realizes that no human is now, never has been, never will be without some sin in their lives They won't be perfected until he or she meets their maker, where all of their sins will be forgiven. But it's their choice if they want to sit on his right hand or not allow Christ into their lives. That's called repentance.
PingPongPig: Great post. I agree completely. G-d's ways are not our ways. There was a time that I too judged Pastor Osteen harshly, and then I learned humility.
Read his books or listen to his sermons and he leaves out Jesus. “God loves you and wants to save you from life of mediocrity and small dreams. Therefore, if you believe in God and be obedient to him, God will give you a plan for your life that includes big dreams, self esteem, favor, health and wealth, influence, a better job, a positive self image and a fulfilled life free of negativity”. That’s it. That’s what it’s all about. That is the sum of just about every book, every sermon, every media appearance, and every tweet of Joel Osteen, condensed into a few sentences.
GOD took people who HE knew HE could mold into something better. Look at David. No one had more right to complain about being crapped on than he did. Yet when his nemesis (King Saul) died, he didn’t air dirty laundry. His reply was “Oh how the mighty have fallen”.
He chose to lead in mourning. After 911, a jerk/ minister wannaBe by the name of Jerry Falwell, came on TV and proclaimed that it was the fault of the “queers and abortionists” and we got it coming. While I do agree that those things are inconsistent incompatible with a sustainable civilized society, that wasn’t the time to bring it up.
Each person must be met with his/ her “talent or level of gift”. Osteen and many others do have to understand that meaningful comfort doesn’t come in a one-size-fits-all

remember when Joan Rivers died shortly after she made comments about Michelle Obama?
i am guessing this is a coverup. Cook probably added extra salt in Michelle’s organic french fries.
