  • I read this as they would stop producing the set, but not necessarily recalling the ones already on store shelves. I just checked Amazon, and it is still available for purchase (knock on wood).

As a Lego/Star Wars fan, I’ve been thinking about getting this set anyway, but it is a bit pricey. I may go ahead and get it now, just in case!

  • Grannie, I can understand your reasoning in a small store, like a post office, but at a bigger store like Target, the cash registers are far enough from the door and it’s loud enough inside the store that the clerks wouldn’t even be able to hear a bell ringing outside. If Target tried using that as an excuse, I don’t think I would buy it!

For whatever reason Target made the decision, I still don’t think it’s right that they would stop having the Salvation Army at their stores.

  • FREE_THOUGHT: “Leslie. Dems voted for the tax increases when we elected obama. I thought you might have seen the election on tv.”

I don’t know if this is what Leslie meant, but what I took out of the comment is that it may have been a Democratic supporter planting the note to make Republicans look bad.

Whatever the case, whoever took the time and money to have this card printed, I doubt would have only printed one. If this is for real, the person who left it is probably going from restaurant to restaurant dropping these things off. This would be done for no other reason than to make a statement–whatever that statement may be.

  • @Not A Crazy

You have a point. I’m sure many of the young women who voted for Obama’s promise of free pills and unrestricted abortions are the same ones who are now paying a good chunk more for their regular tans. Doesn’t this bother any of them even a little (if they’re even aware of the tax)?

  • I actually do remember hearing a theory after Powell endorsed Obama in 2008 that had nothing to do with race: he got behind the candidate who happened to be the front-runner at the time, in hopes of getting appointed to a cabinet position.

Of course, Obama had a better lead in the polls in ’08 than he does now. Not to mention, Powell didn’t get a position in the first term anyway, so if that WAS his plan, it didn’t work.

Hmm… Maybe there is another reason…

  • I’m with you, Kick!

This election was the first time I’ve donated to a political campaign. Since then, I occasionally receive envelopes in the mail from his campaign asking for more donations. I’ve sent him 3 checks so far!
