  Maybe it’s a fund raiser for them. Certain non-NY residents have to pay NY for breathing their air.. NY is losing population at a tremendous rate and losing tax payers even faster. So anybody who looks like they wouldn’t challenge ‘em (if this mom had been wearing a burqa would they have stopped her?) they find a way to fine those who appear law abiding but not rich enough to be lawyered up. This woman would exactly fit that bill. To hear them tell it, they do need the money.

  And as for NY, well people are just RUSHING to get there -why the state is growing by leaps and bounds, it’s citizens prosperous, safe, educated, healthy and happy. Almost the Utopia that Chicago is. Who wouldn’t want to be there?

  LIved in NY for five years (seemed like 500). You are being kind. NY is a nightmare period and getting worse. Please read up on the state senator Sen. Malcolm Smith, D-Queens arrested (there’s a shocker) for bribes. He wants to be NYC mayor. A white, pregnant mother of a 6 year old from the midwest who probably has military dependant ID. Well, no wonder they arrested her! Her kind ain’t welcome in NY.

  I went to high school in rural texas. MOST of the high school aged boys had a long gun in their truck or car, and parked it in the parking lot (dirt, but we knew it was student parking). They didn’t get stolen. Not a single one of them would have brought the thing inside the school, and would have thought you were nuts to suggest it. Nobody got shot or even threatened to be shot, even before during or after a fist fight.
  The guns ain’t the problem.

  If liberty is God given, and we have it, what should believers do when someone tries to take away that liberty, not just from me personally, but from my children, all children and the grandchildren not yet here.

  Relinquish this gift without a word? Relinquish part of the gift? Respond with words but no deeds? What deeds are the right ones? Voting? letter writing? posting on web sites? responding to opinion polls? Protesting? civil disobedience? Hiding currently legal weapons and ammunition? Hiding contraban? lying to authorities?
  Begining when? when is any or all of these ok? What is the proper, the right, response? As a Christian, I should take it as punishment for fifty years of my country encouraging abortion? Another injustice?
  Does anybody have these answers?

  He won the election because we did nothing. Didn’t vote in the primaries, didn’t vote much in the general election. too lazy to vote if there is no “cult of personality” like King Barack I’s. THAT is what we really want – not ideals or ideas or even to hold the wolves at bay. Nope. If he ain’t purty AND charmin’, we just aren’t into the effort.

  I don’t think “we” chose McCain or Romney. The media decided that’s who should get the nomination and, like good little sheep or maybe blind little dupes, that is exactly what happened in the primaries.

  The voters who cared enough to make an effort to do anything at all, ethical or unethical, won. Until we care at least enough to go vote, there will be no change. Republicans didn’t even bother to challenge the numerous, blatant and obvious voter fraud. Think Progressives will consider it a successful effort, worth of improving and doing again? Duh.

  Republicans weren’t beaten. We laid down. We gave it to ‘em. With leadership like Romney, McCain and Boerner, I’m pretty shocked you expect something different.

  MIL-DOT: what, exactly, is your suggestion? that this cop killer is ok, and should be left to live his sweet gentle life in the forest in a cabin?
  The LA PD have just about the worst reputation in the country as far as professionalism goes. All police forces have idiots and good professional LEO’s, some more than others. Part of the human condition.
  Cop killers have to stopped quickly. If the cops aren’t safe, the rest of us are even less safe. I will try to defend myself or others in a pinch. I have no intention of tracking down and arresting anyone for a crime, much less do it for a living. I have no intention of inserting myself in unsafe neighborhoods or situations hoping to difuse a violent incident. Neither do you. In my town we need our cops. Do I like all of them? NO. Am I glad they are on patrol and on the job? Of course.
  Again, what do you suggest should happen here? You seem preoccupied with boot licking.
