NYC Proposes Upping Age for Tobacco Purchases to 21
April 23, 2013 at 3:21am
Don’t get me wrong, I wish no one would smoke, but raising ages little bit by little bit on everything just seems like a way to eventually get rid of something entirely and where will it stop? While I don’t endorse smoking, I think it’s that particular adult’s choice, not the government’s. If you raise the age to 21, what’s to stop them in a year or so from raising it to 25 or 30? What will be next? Drinking age? Driving age? R-rated movie age? Pretty soon no one will be allowed to do anything by themselves until or make any ADULT decisions for themselves until they’re 50 years old. Of course, they will just make it illegal PERIOD by then. You can bet your **** that you’ll still be eligible for the draft at 18 though.

…and before you try to get pithy about “arms” vs. “firearms” The legal definition of arms as determined by the SC is “(Law) Anything which a man takes in his hand in anger, to strike or assault another with; an aggressive weapon.”

@SIMPLETHRUTHS
Actually, you were hard on MDLWOODS and frankly turned out to be the one who sounds stupid. Firearms, by definition, are portable weapons from which a shot is discharged by gunpowder. Tanks, missiles, nukes and many types of bazookas do not fit that description as their shots are propelled by components other than gunpowder and are certainly not portable. Technically, as per the constitution, we SHOULD be allowed to possess certain machine guns or other automatic firearms.

STM- Relax! God’s got this. Genesis 8:22: While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. In other words, we’ll have plenty of food, there will be different seasons and there will still be warm weather and cold weather. We will have what we need from the earth thanks to Him. This was part of His promise to Noah.
Of course, if you don’t believe in that, look at it this way. We were barely making engines and machines that required gas and oil to operate 100 years ago, so I have a feeling that in 100 more years given the technology we now have, we probably won’t be using too much gas and oil, if any at all.
LTB- don’t worry about the food and population. The world governments and their puppet masters will release the killer “superbugs” they’ve been holding onto for years LONG before we get so many people that the earth could no longer sustain them. Population control measures are already prepared and some are already underway. Don’t believe it? Better get educated and borrow common sense from somewhere. Between pushing abortions, pushing for everything gay, and buying billions of rounds for our domestic “security”, I’d say the US is well poised to route the problem of overpopulation (here at least).

Last word got cut off…”sustainability”

Continued:
“Generally, more highly educated people, who have higher incomes, consume more resources than poorly educated people, who tend to have lower incomes. In this case, more education increases the threat to sustainability.” –ESD Toolkit, Version 2.0
Here, Dr. McKeown is saying that if we have a great number of highly educated people running around on the planet, they will consume even more natural resources than uneducated people, so we need to limit the amount and content of what the children learn.
Further, from the Congressional Record of the 88th US Congress in 1963, in pages A-34 & A-35 is a list of 45 goals from the American Communist Party. Here are a couple:
17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. (We suddenly have a HUGE push for Headstart and Preschool)
Feel free to look up any of this information. What we’re experiencing in our public school system is beyond just our government. There are larger purposes behind all this.

I know by posting this, the first thoughts out of some peoples’ minds will be, “Here we go! Break out the tinfoil hats!” but the information can be verified.
As part of the global UN Agenda 21, UNESCO has already begun the “United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development”. From the Teachers Manual associated with this, under the section titled Influencing Our Children it lists:
• Facts are only manmade
• Eliminating disagreement
• Must rely on experts
• Only OK to question certain ideas
This manual has been approved by the Department of Education for use in our schools. Lesson plans are frequently derived from this manual based on local schools’ and states’ wishes and standards. Part of this curriculum is Common Core containing elements of Connected Math and other standardized lessons.
Getting to Know Connected Mathematics
“Because the curriculum does not emphasize arithmetic computation done by hand, some CMP students may not do as well on tests assessing computational skills. We believe such a trade-off in favor of CMP is very much to the student’s advantage in the world of work.” –P.84, Teacher’s Manual
“They learn that mathematics is man-made, that it is arbitrary, and good solutions are arrived at by consensus among those who are experts.” — p. 17, Standard 3

The “useful idiots” see this as political correctness and fairness. The men behind the scenes see it as another instrument of population control.

@ SCOTTYDU81
Most of the Navy serve on ships and boats, so unless CPT Jack Sparrow pulls up along side of you in the Black Pearl, you won’t have any real idea whether they would be great in infantry style land combat or not.

I didn’t read all the posts so someone may have brought this up but, did this guy really tell his wife to go outside of the house, onto a balcony, in a wooded and somewhat secluded area and fire off both of her rounds into the air when she thinks someone dangerous might be trying to get in???
