The concussions came from practices. How do you think the teams prepare for games? This guy was predominantly a practice-squad player.

She might have been the lactation specialist. When I delivered my first, the lactation specialist was working the night shift. She wasn’t as bad as this, but she wasn’t very nice, either, After 38 hours of labor I was exhausted and didn’t appreciate her bedside manner at 2am. It was a miserable night.

You got that right, Jack.

I’m sorry, but if it has been more than 5 years since you have seen your grandchildren, you really shouldn’t expect to be the center of their attention. You can’t have any real relationship with them without spending time together. In general, kids today are much more narcissistic than we older generations were allowed to be, but it also requires a great deal of narcissism to expect people to focus solely on you simply because you share DNA. If you want a relationship with your grandchildren, I suggest that you act like the adult and start building that relationship instead of demanding it. Try getting to know them and their interests. For heaven’s sake, play a video game with them if that’s what it takes. My kids have a wonderful relationship with my in-laws because my fabulous mother-in-law takes the time to interact with them, come to their soccer games, etc. My parents can’t hardly get 3 sentences out of my kids. My parents also see them once a year and spend that time sitting on the couch watching HGTV. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why the two sets of grandparents have a different experience when spending time with the same kids.

I understand your sentiment, but did you miss where it said that none of that money is coming from Freedomworks coffers?
“According to the contract, Armey’s consulting fees will be paid by Richard J. Stephenson, the founder and chairman of the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and a board member at FreedomWorks.”
Sounds to me like Mr. Stephenson was willing to cough up his own money just to get rid of Dick Armey.

I’m pretty sure I read that they already did. Apparently this group thinks that the parents don’t know what’s best for their own children.

But didn’t Hillary say that a post on facebook isn’t proof of anything? Guess that only applies to Benghazi.

Ghost & Shasta, I hear you both. I grew up in Kern County (CA) and now live in Ohio. Pretty much the same situation — the liberal cities giving the whole state a bad name. At least in CA I knew what to expect. Ohio is just schizophrenic.

I caught that, too, last night. Very telling.

Think It Thu — Do you know what a parody is? You really need to, well, think this one through.

At first I thought the whole idea of the FLOTUS receiving a salary was ridiculous. Now I think maybe we should give her one — and then require that she use that salary to pay the salaries of her staff and all travel expenses. She can hire as many people as she wants and travel to her heart’s content — on her dime. That could save us millions!
By the note writer’s same logic — didn’t he go to school, use the roads, water & utilities? Then where is his business that those things built???

Yes, Bush started it. But Obama was a senator who voted for it, even lobbied from the Senate floor to get others to pass it, urging them to “step up to the plate” and “do the right thing” by passing it. After he was elected but before he was inaugurated, he asked Bush to request that the second half of TARP funds be allocated, saying it would be irresponsible to enter office without having all the tools necessary to address the problem.
Bush deserves his fair share of the blame, but Obama is to blame as well. He voted for the very problem that he “inherited”.

Maybe it means something, she says? It means you need to clean your shower more often.

That $1.60/hour you are belittling means that he received an 18% pay increase over two years. Can you say the same?

I think you nailed it. Top down, bottom up.

Tax-free? Clergy pay income tax just like everyone else. Well, like everyone but Warren Buffett, GE and their ilk.

@Crazyrabbit — regarding the average comment post, I agree is isn’t a big deal to overlook misspellings. However, we should expect more from published pieces, whether it is a book or an article on a website, in a newspaper or in a magazine. Paid authors and editors combined should be able to do better than that. It seriously detracts from their credibility and professionalism.
