  • +100 Exactly my sentiments. My wife and children know how to load, and operate every firearm in our household.

  • What with all the gaff’s Pat’s made in the past several years I’m wondering how much longer it will be before CBN finally announces that he has been suffering from dementia and repent of the network being afraid to remove him because they needed his brand to keep the network operating?

  • Once again we see that when people are shot they don’t die or go down like in a Hollywood movie after one or two shots. This person was being shot at by as many as three police officers and yet did not go down until he was shot in the head. Don’t let the anti-gunner’s tell you that you just need x amount of bullets.

  • People need to realize that when you utilize online charter schools/programs that are connected in anyway with public schools are not home schooling. You are just public schooling at home. No wonder this common core stuff is in your curriculum.
If someone else is controlling the curriculum you utilize at home, you are not homeschooling.
We’ve been homeschooling since the 1980′s. After trying to find a system that worked best for our children it didn’t take long to learn for us to learn that we didn’t need to follow the public school model when we homeschooled. To many new homeschooler’s get caught in this trap because that is how they were taught growing up. There is more than enough material available so that you can develop your own curriculum. Join a homeschool support group. Break free from the public school model. Don’t get caught up in trying to emulate the busyness that some many other public school and private school families feel they need to put their children through. We’ve even seen home school families falling into the trap of busyness and running their children from one activity to another. Simplify.

  • Yep. Breakdown in procedures. Although there is another step that could have potentially prevented so many deaths. Allowing teachers to carry concealed. If as a parent you are willing to trust your child’s safety to a teacher for 6-8 hours a day, wouldn’t you be willing to allow that teacher to carry concealed? If not, why is your child in that school? It’s reported that the principle of the school did the right thing and ran to the sound of the gunfire but unfortunately ended up getting shot. How much better would it have been had she and her fellow teachers been armed?

  • So really what is the purpose of this article, as a stand along article? For one information in this article is already out of date (IE. name of shooter). Also it appears from updated news reports that only the handguns were used. The long gun was not used and was found in the back seat of the perpetrator’s vehicle. But again the reason for this article? Other than to assist copycat’s as to what weapons they should use and what style of clothes to wear? Or assist politicians to know what weapons they should ban? The point of discussion should be how a shooter was able to enter the school grounds without being stopped by security or some other adult. Also the type of emergency/security training is provided in our public schools should be discussed. The old hide behavior of compliance or hide under a desk advice has been proven ineffective. Thought that was learned after 9/11.
If you trust your children’s teachers enough to leave your children in their care for 6-8 hours a day, shouldn’t you trust them enough to enable them to carry concealed? If not, why are your children in their care at all?
Time for the adults in our society to stop being sheep and become sheepdogs.

  • Sorry Zatoichi. Not sure about the Big Island, but in Leilehua HS in Wahiawa, Oahu they had a “kill a haole day”. The teachers would tell all the Haole’s to stay home that day. So my wife, who is very light skinned and was a military dependent at the time would skip school that day. That was in 1979. So the matter of racial tension has gone on for several decades and is not a liberal invention. Now I got over as someone who tanned dark like a local and my last name sounded Samoan, so no one messed with me.

  • Next time, (if there is a next time) no RINO’s. That means Jeb Bush and Chris Christie are out.
Of course the Beltway Repubs will pick someone palatable for them. It’s time for a conservative 3rd party and not the loser Libertarians who thought that highlighting marijuana and gay marriage was the way to go.

  • True that Mr. McGovern was a liberal politician, but later in life after he became an entrepreneur and started a Bed and Breakfast, which ended in bankruptcy. He lamented not having this experience prior to entering politics. Here is an essay he wrote that people may find interesting, regarding that experience. http://www.inc.com/magazine/19931201/3809.html
May the Lord comfort his family in their grief and hopefully the senator made it to the promised land.

  • So who listens to Pat Robertson anymore? He’s like the senile grandpa that people make excuses for if you get invited to the family dinner. If you ever get like this when you are an old man Glenn Beck make sure someone keeps you away from the microphone and off the air.
Besides this is old news, happened the beginning of the month and it’s just now getting posted on the Blaze?
