  • I grew up in the south. Until I was in about the fourth grade we said the Lord’s Prayer every single day before the pledge of allegiance. My father was JW so I didn’t say the pledge back then. Back then you were taught to be respectful. Those that didn’t pray didn’t pray and those of us that didn’t pledge didn’t pledge. I never felt offended by the pledge being said and the little Jewish girl in my class wasn’t offend by the prayer. Sometimes the teacher would do Psalms 23 for Margie. I think we have gotten to a point where we are not separating church and state we are separating ourselves from reality. The reality is this teacher prays. It is her right to to pray at a time when she feels she really needs to pray. If had been in that storm I would have fallen on my knees and prayed with all my heart for everyone around me including me. That someone that doesn’t prays child might have seen it, just get over it. The reality is people pray. Hiding it from your child doesn’t make it go away. They will be exposed to at some point. That’s when you explain what you believe and why, not demand other people give up their rights because you can’t handle a child’s questions.

  • I don’t think New Orleans is a gun friendly environment anyway. Even if you aren’t supposed to have one in a parade I also bet your just not supposed to have one at all. Haven’t been there. Won’t go if its a gun free city or state.

  • I understood he was being robbed, his address and that he said he shot at them. No excuse. If she didn’t understand she should have asked him to try and calm down and please repeat it slowly. My sister is a 911 dispatch operator and when people of any race are excited and scared they are hard to understand so you try to calm them you don’t blow them off.

  • I have Native American blood. They have my permission to post the sign.

  • Brucker the billboard points out exactly why those atrocities happened. They didn’t have arms equal to or in the numbers that the enemy had. It wasn’t a fair fight. If you stupid liberals don’t stop excepting limits on our freedom it won’t be a fair fight the next time either.
I have Native American blood too and this is not offensive to me. It’s the truth. My grandfathers mother left the reservation with his father. We didn’t grow up on a reservation and when the government started giving land reparations to the Cherokee no one in my family took the land. They didn’t want to be rounded up and put back on the reservation.

  • I think Kerri Salazar if she is truly Native American should understand the point better than most. I have Native American blood. Native Americans weren’t able to fight on equal ground because the trade and sale of guns to them were banned once full blown war started. Had they been as well armed as those they were fighting things might have gone quite differently. Quit being offended by freedom.

  • It was to me also as someone who studied art. I bet they got kudos from the art teacher on it.

  • Well I’m really taking offense to this ridiculous councilwoman. It has nothing to do with race. It has more credibility than the majority of the rap music out there as art. She aught to look to her own and do a little reflection on what is really racism and what is not. Getting sick of the racist boogy man that seems to haunt us at every turn.

  • @Encinom.
The shoe bomber boarded the plane in Paris and was not an American.

It was unclear if the LAX rampage was a terrorist act. Hadayet was clearly out to kill Jews but he gave no indication it was jihad. It appeared to be more of a racist rampage than jihad. If it happened today it would have probably been defined as a terrorist attack. He did not claim it was a jihad. He was not on the radar as a terrorist. It was racism.
The Beltway Snipers were thugs on a killing spree. From statements made their intent was to kill white people. They robbed some of them before or after shooting them. Not a religious act of jihad. Another racist rampage.
Taheri Azar claimed jihad but as in the case above of Muhammad he was not a devote Muslim. IMO they both only claimed jihad after the fact as a poor excuse for going on a killing rampage. Neither had any terrorist ties and were not on the radar as terrorist.
Hag was not your standard terrorist either. He had actually converted to Christianity. But he flip flopped. His intent was to kill Jews and didn’t claim it was a jihad. He had bipolar disorder and was considered mentally ill. At the time it was considered an act of racism and I’m not sure it would be considered terrorism today.
Poplar claimed he was a terrorist but there must not have been any proof of that. It was determined he also was mentally ill and he was institutionalized.
Akbar while he was Islamic his actions were not jihad they were revenge. Not a terroris
