  My GGGrandfather, Martin Van Buren Culver and his brother James Jasper Culver were captured shortly after the siege of Vicksburg and sent to a yankee prison camp at Fort Polk Louisiana. My Grandfather was later released because of injuries and sickness he aquired in prison and allowed to go home, and my uncle was offered pardon if he would take the oath. He told them he would join up with his unit (Co. C 49th Al. Inf.) if he was released, and that they could take their oath and shove it up their ass. He remained in prison until the end of the war. The u.s gov has been at this for a long time. Don’t bow down before this tyrant Mr. Ted.
