I love how all the non-chronic pain sufferers speak with authority about painkillers and how all should be banned. You have no idea what you’re talking about. Lets pass another law banning all opioid prescriptions, tell me what are the people who abuse them and need them suppose to do to function?
when did i say anything about banning anything, RED?
and i know plenty.
Isn't it amazing that now Beck and the Blaze sound like nanny staters, and they want to ban medications that those of us with chronic, intractable pain could literally not live without.
Guess what, NSAIDs like ibuprofen, naproxen, and other anti-inflammatories are leading causes of ER visits for deadly strokes and other very serious, life threatening conditions. Google it. In addition, if you think you can take acetametaphine (Tylenol) for an extended period of time without eventually requiring a liver transplant, then go for it.
Many of us have no other options. The loss in productivity due to dabilitating pain is far greater than the cognitive deficit caused by opiate medicine for chronic pain sufferers. Fentanyl providers are very clear...it is only to be used by patients whose systems are currently OPIATE TOLERANT, otherwise there IS a risk of death from respiratory failure.
Thank GOD these fentanyl patches are available to me and many like me, otherwise, our pain would be so great that there would be no point to living.
But that's not good enough for the nanny-staters, like Trump, who has already said he will work to ban this medicine, and like apparently now Glenn Beck and the Blaze, who failed to report the other side of the coin, that is, the relief it provides to those of us with intractable pain.
Paul Ryan and the congress just sent a series of anti-opiate bills to the pres for signature, which will make it even harder now for us to get the medicine we need

not one poster, on this whole thread, has even suggested banning painkillers.
where are you getting that from?
many posts, here, seem to be expressing concern regarding people who are NOT chronically in pain abusing these meds- with doctor approval.
I say legalize them all, all opioids, benzos, meth, cocaine... . If an adult wants to abuse them, they should be allowed to abuse... but, the government should not pay a dime for treatment of overdoses or detox. Government needs to get out of the medical business.

Stop being so defensive and posting your comments multiple times. We get it, you're in constant pain. Me too, but I'm not crying about the opinions of others. Suck it up princess and understand that your experience is different and while you might be in chronic pain your situation is no more important than anyone else's. The truly sad part about your opinion is that because of your condition you are unable to see the other side, the abuse side, and recognize that there is indeed a problem.
Are you saying the prescription drug problem we're having in this country is nothing? Too many doctors give out pain killers like they're candy. There are doctors who all they do is write prescriptions like oxi and alike.
I'm not saying we need to ban them, I think states need to have better over site, find the doctors who are the frauds, and real doctors need to be careful giving out addictive substantives. And they need to follow up on their patients to make sure they are not getting addicted to the pain killers.
John, Dr. Shopping is a major issue.
Put aside your feelings, stop acting like a liberal, and use some reason.
