  Better a large can of Bear Spray (pepper) if they could have gotten one. It could easily have taken out all 13 of the perps.

  You’re so right! I biked across USA in ’76, and even then there were places of danger. People in passing cars threw garbage and filled pop bottles at us in central Oregon, threw firecrackers and forced us off the road in southern Illinois, and sic’d dogs on us and threw rocks at us in eastern Kentucky. Those were pretty tame compared to what can happen in a 2nd or 3rd world country. I tried to bike from Capetown to the Cape in ’90 and was warned not to “…because the baboons would get me.” But in 20 summers of biking in Switzerland and France, there was never any problem whatsoever.

  I’m guessing the perps are more likely Islamic, being that 1/3rd of India is Muslim and that Islamic men seem to think of women of all ages as animals to be used as desired.

  The Swiss are well-known for their intelligence, so I’m surprised that these two were not familiar with the raging gang-rape epidemic in India. If they WERE aware of it, then they, like all daredevils who bite the dust, have only themselves to blame. You cannot enter the lion’s lair without getting bitten unless you are very, very lucky.

  I just looked over that list of the 100 best books of the decade, and you could come up with reason for banning ANY of them. “Bad Science” is anti-big-Pharma. “Payback” is anti-capitalist. “The Plot Against America” is anti-Jew. “Austerlitz” is anti-German. Censorship is anti-American! Freedom of speech is the number one tenet of our society, and for the boneheads at this little school who want to stifle that, I say, “Go to hell!”
