Thank you RELOAD! I totally agree. I can find NO ONE in my extended family who wants to play Monopoly anymore. And RISK!?! Risk was my favorite game growing up! I used to play with my father and uncles. My father bought me my very own Risk game about 20 years ago!............I've played it once or twice. I can't believe how much this generation is missing out.
They should have added another rule, and re-printed the whole thing in cursive, just to keep the stupid people away.
Who wants to play board games with people who can't pay attention or use their brains, anyway?
There have been alternative versions (even licensed ones that are built around your town for fundraising instead of Atlantic City) of monopoly for years.
They changed the rules of Scrabble a few years ago to allow proper names.
I would hope they would continue to make and market the original version of monopoly. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
I see this version going the way of "new Coke".
Oh man, Axis and Allies. That's a weekend right there. Did you also draw up expanded maps and the option for a nuclear program like my friends and I did? :)
Man, I thought we were hard core.
My Uncle and Cousins would play Risk with 3 boards "connected" via Alaska and Siberia. On Christmas Eve we had War of the Worlds. The new Worlds champion would be the last man standing Christmas Morning.
I agree, Reload! "Addresses Dwindling Attention Spans"? I'll tell you what...anyone who is too stupid to play a simple Monopoly game or can't keep their mind from wandering long enough to play the game has no business trying to survive in the world without getting serious help. Then we wonder how and why the idiot in the oval office got elected.
My stepdad knew a guy while he was in college whose entire living room was turned into a giant Risk game board, and he'd go over and play Risk all weekend long.
I've never known anyone who has lived as richly and interestingly as my stepdad.
a nuclear program was how my friends and i ended the game
it was our way of admitting defeat folding the board and declaring nuclear war often followed by resetting for another game after the loser picked up any fallen pieces

If Zimmerman skates on the murder 2 charge (of which I think he should), the darkies are gonna burn Florida to the ground.
The AR is VERY accurate, and has better stopping power, get a 6-twist match barrel for even better accuracy. The mini-14 is great...for shooting squirrels....but, the ammo is cheaper/lighter.....
The Mini 14 shoots a .223 just like the AR does. They were made for critters like coyotes and ground hogs not squirrels
I have messed with both rifles plenty.
There are only a couple reasons to get a Mini-14 over an AR. 1. If you can find a private sale Mini-14 with several magazines for $600-$700, jump on it. 2. If your state says no to the AR's pistol grip and/or flash hider. 3. If you just don't like the military look of the AR.
Mini-14 magazines are much more expensive, and harder to mount a scope than an AR. ARs can be much more accurate, but then again their barrels are typically heavier. Even the Mini-14's dad, the M14, is only really accurate with a lot of $$$ invested, sorry to say. No one spends big bucks making a Mini-14 extremely accurate, they go buy an AR.
