  #1 She is 12, she isn’t a “young adult”, she is a child.

  #2, if indeed she is being teased or anything or the sort, I would tell her to get used to it because she’s asking for it by referring to herself as a “freethinker”.

  Who the hell would go around calling themselves “freethinkers”??? Do they not understand what that implies of other “non freethinkers”??

  For a group of people who fancy themselves as being so “bright” they sure seem oblivious to how arrogant they come off when calling themselves “freethinkers”. The immediate implication is that those who aren’t in their little group are not “freethinkers” and thus are “slavish thinkers”.

  So essentially she calls herself a “freethinker” and then wonders why people don’t like her…. poor child….at least she’s a child….can;t say that for all of them….

  No sir, certainly not attempting any such “baiting” or “straw grasping” or “discrediting of websites at all.

  I like this website very much and don’t have any complaints. However, the way I came upon the story was by looking through the different topics on the right side of the screen. I looked through the yellow “faith” section and this was one of the stories.

  My bewilderment was genuine and was truly wondering why it was found in that section.

  Don’t be so defensive. No trolling here.

  What I am wondering about is why is this article in the “faith” section on this website?? What does this alleged attack have to do with any type of “faith” or religion. There isn’t any mention of the attack being done by religious individuals or that is was done due to any religious motivation, if this attack indeed did happen.

  I’d expect this on a “progressive” website where they assume that any attack on gays is perpetrated by religious folk but I thought better of this website….
