  60 years old? I don’t think so…more like 70! I am 54 and if I look that bad when I am 60 I am just gonna pack it up. Not impressed!

  OK, as a GAY MAN, even I am confused! Let me get this straight (no pun intended)…when a “man” identifies as a woman and dresses as a woman and carries on as a woman, we in society are being “insensitive” if we don’t refer to him as a woman…because that’s how he “identifies” himself. However, when a “woman” who is gay CLEARLY identifies herself as a “man” (as Rachel Maddow does…all one needs to do is listen to her speak and see how she dresses “the part”), then suddenly we are being “insensitive” to her for identifying her the same way that she (he) identifies herself? How does THAT make any sense? Can’t we just go back to the good old days of “gay” or “straight” and leave all the cross-gender, politically correct or incorrect crap out of it?

  This could have been an opportunity for Obama to embrace some of that “reach across the aisle” based leadership that he has recently started claiming he has and provide a commentary that he recognizes that the country is deeply divided on not only this, but many issues, and how he plans to begin bridging that gap and becoming the president for all Americans rather than only half. Instead, all he could muster was a halfhearted attempt at a bad joke based on the only subject (he thinks) he knows anything about, sports. Even in doing this, he managed to choose sides and polarize by demeaning the people of Tennessee while praising his constituents in Chicago.

  @ Wolfgang…You are only half right. If there were a tie in the electoral count, the House of Representatives would indeed choose the winner of the Presidential race, pretty much assuring that Romney would win since Republicans have the majority. However that ONLY holds true for the Presidential candidate…the VICE President would be chosen by the Senate which has a Dem majority, so the most likely outcome would be a pronouncement of Biden as VP. Is the country ready for Romney/Biden? I think not!
