Salamat, ” In a nutshell I’m looking for how can we take care of the “widows and orphans” that James talks about in the bible and live the spirit of Matthew 25:40…”
Exactly why this appears in the Bible. We are called to take care of widows and orphans as an outflow of our personal walk with God not as a mandate from some government entity. The Church has always done a better job of helping the poor than governments because the blessing of God is on giving, not on taking.

Trump mis-spoke. It’s supposed to be “Fauxcahantas” which you would hope wouldn’t have insulted the reporter as much. Sounds like she never even knew that Liawatha is a cereal stealer of Native American honor.

My bet is that being DIII is negative enough.

Tough for DIII players to get recognized because of …..well…it’s DIII. The competition’s just not there. My friends son was one of the top DII receivers in the country and he only got a cursory look at training camp. That being said….let the kid show you what he’s got Bill!

John you’re right. If you look hard enough for demons you’ll always find them….even when they aren’t there. Nothing to this song.

SDRR……I AM a born again/washed in the Blood/filled with the Spirit/Bible thumpin’ Christian…..who happens to think we should carefully look for the plank in our own eyes before pointing out the speck in someone else’s. Perhaps you should do the same….unless of course you are perfect…..then I apologize.

Copt…what I see is a perfectly reasonable statement without even a smattering of racism in it. Simply a plausible reason the girl (who stated that she had a black boyfriend) might not want the guy sitting next to her.

Apparently so did Jesus.

Brotherhood has it right. Blink……sorry, you got it wrong again, but at least you’re consistent. Huff…you’re funny! I like how you think you’re springing these supposed contradictions of the Bible on us! LOL! Great stuff!

“Many Christians (meaning genuine born again believers) want to be seen as experts in spiritual matters, but it is only out of their foolishness or inflated egos, desiring the have the preeminence.”
Hope you were looking in the mirror when you typed that.
The Holy Spirit inside me, guides me into all GODLY TRUTH. What’s in YOU? This is why SOME PEOPLE should LISTEN and not speak, LIKE YOU.
SDRRepublic64,....and the mirror rickfromthecape spoke of should be in your hand as well.

Agreed Hoofbeats. Most forget that the talent pool for Christian artists is considerably smaller as well. There IS some good stuff out there, but you have to search for it. Another problem with it is that you’re basically dealing with one theme.God’s love for us, and His redemption. Best theme ever, but when it’s the same thing over and over it gets a little tired. I think some of the best Christian songs do well when they identify with the angst of being lost, and bringing redemption in, in say the final verse. That’s what we try to do anyway. Also a lot of Christian artist get sidetracked into worship music. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with worship music, but I feel that an evangelical focus is a more useful aim for Christian rock/pop music.

Utopia….rook is the guy who’s older brother would take his hand and make him hit himself with it over and over saying, “Stop hitting yourself!” Then he would stop, but rook would just keep hitting himself anyway.
