  • Right… So I’ve worked in the food industry from the time I flipped burgers in highschool… and I’ve got a couple issues here.
    1. If you’re eating in a chinese resteraunt with no running water, you’re going to have a bad time. I won’t even touch the electricity issue. they could have kept the Buffett to temp with gas chafers but… Those are expensive. So I doubt it. You can wash your hands without water, but wipe down a fork with a wetpak and see how that tastes. I know of no resteraunt ever that doesn’t need to wash pans and place settings all through the evening shift just to have enough.
2nd, If you want to take those risks, then by all means this is a free country. But that meansthat they would understand the risks they were taking. I doubt the owner was telling customers eating here is a bad idea. And if it was the only place open? Well, hunger generally trumps reason.

3rd. Heath dept guys are ******. But they generally don’t bust down doors. Gov’t enforcement generally gives you a inflated sense of self worth… but they are usually dweebs and overly formulaic ones at that. So I have issue with “bust down the door”

4th. They didn’t let people leave? seriously? The person who wrote this story doesn’t actually say how it ends, and I can be that it didn’t end with everyone being arrested. We’re not that nazi-fied. Yet. If I was eating there, i’d be happy because the health department just got me out of having to pay for my meal!
