  • FACT – “Law breakers”, be definition those who break the laws, will not be curtailed by new laws. If strict (often even called harsh) “gun control laws” worked than Chicago would be a safe playground instead of the war zone it is. Yoking ‘law abiding citizens’ with new and invasive “laws” will only effect those who obey the rules and not those who “break them” as was Sandy Hook. Background checks exist already and a “criminal” will not be curtailed by more or even more stringent. Violent criminals, the criminally insane or mentally unbalanced, will not be deterred in exacting their hate filled agenda upon society. Law breakers ‘break’ the law, common sense dictates that more laws will just be broken. Protect the ‘areas’ called gun free (a joke in and of itself) with people who realize that criminals will come no matter what laws are imposed… realizing that makes those protectors ready and more able to defend those who want to be ‘defenseless’ or ‘are’ due their age, abilities, etc… Common sense.

  • Some people still think there “will” be an America to contemplate “history.” What head in the sand fools those are… within ten years we will have one Pravda type newspaper. One TV station. No industry. We’ll look a lot like those 3rd world nations we’ve aided for generations and king Obummer will still be ruling. O’Reilly will have been hung for speaking out against the Soviet States of America along with other pundits and talk show hosts. Roving bands of large, armed groups will terrorize the deep rural regions while Soylent Green will suddenly come true for the inner cities. Don’t believe it? Study history, The Tzarist Russian debacle, China’s Civil war, Cuba’s fall from freedom, look at Rhodesia, look at the Balkans, it is coming people and it is solely because of this process (forecast by John Adams), “I must study politics and war that my sons may have liberty to study mathematics and philosophy. My sons ought to study mathematics and philosophy, geography, natural history, naval architecture, navigation, commerce, and agriculture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, statuary, tapestry, and porcelain.” WELL, the last generation has study navel lint and produced a techno focused bunch of texting/sexting idiots who believe that the Republic can run itself. Start digging your graves people.

  • Interesting article, “very” interesting responses. Of note, the ‘rabid’ left have closed ranks and forces from all areas (tree hugging ecologists, gay and lesbian, pro-abortion, educations unions, anti-Faith/Christian atheist groups, everyone drive a Prius people, AFL/CIO, some of the ACLU, all the progressives you can think of anywhere) are together against the ‘fractured, split, arguing’ 2nd Amendment factions. I hear pro-gun folks fighting over nuances that make, in the final outcome, no difference but the left “Has divided (not only the nation) 2nd Amendment supporters” and will win if the sector squabbles don’t stop on the right. In a local shop the other day I heard folks who appeared to be ‘hunters’ bad mouthing the more ‘tactically’ oriented shooters and it is not uncommon to hear the opposite. Folks who own one firearm bemoaning the “overzealous” who own 10… we are being split as part of their plan to strip us of the “unalienable” right to defend ourselves as represented by the 2nd Amendment. Join the NRA, GOA, and a local or state group, accept without reservation others who believe in ‘any’ part of the “pro-gun” plank and educate each other. Join local school groups and track efforts to misinform in our schools and obstruct them (future citizens are there). Form a ‘neighborhood’ group to educate and initiate folks who do NOT know anything about guns into the fun and satisfactions of firearm use and ownership. Or we lose.

  • …(cont) Study history and you will see “why” today 2nd Amend are VERY concerned. You do not have to wear a King’s Crown to be imperial and dictatorial.

  • [Of interest numerically - IN 2009, according to the CDC, approximately 2,435,682 citizens died in the United States -The total (latest year available) number of all accidental deaths in the US is (from: http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/acc-inj.htm) 118,021 which accounts for some .. 4.8% of total deaths HOMICIDES BY FIREARMS, ALL OF 'EM TOTALED 11,493 or .04% of the total.]

There are thousands of gun laws on the books already & most if not all of these high volume shootings violate dozens of those already present laws… and those laws did NOT stop the
    criminal assailant.

National Firearms Act of 1934 – machine guns and sawed off shotguns; National Firearms Act of 1936 – federal licensing of firearms dealers, etc; National Firearms Act of 1968 – more stringent control on licensed sales, buyer requirements; Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988 – banned plastic, etc; Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993 – The Brady Bill imposed a five-day
waiting period before a handgun could be taken home by a buyer; many others!

The “rights” guaranteed by the 2nd Amend were chosen because Americans in the 13 colonies had seen 1st hand, up close & very personal, exactly “what” an oppressive totalitarian government could do to a society and even an armed society. They understood very well that ‘laws’ did not infringe upon some in government who thought “ruling” was all about controlling & demanding. Study history and you will see “why” today 2nd Amend

  • (last sentence cut off ) – We lost good men, valiant warriors in life’s battle against darkness and
    hate. God Speed.

  • Given today’s laws these types of people are seldom filtered out of society. Even marked violent behavior generally only results in a 72hr hold and release. This is a tragedy and a crime but to those speculating some darker conspiracy, why is Chris Kyle’s death so significant? What great political force was he wielding, what ‘knowledge’ did he possess that was so dangerous to those powers that he had to be assassinated? Don’t misunderstand this question… I admired and respected Chris Kyle, his service, patriotism and devotion to others… he had great Faith, loved his family and friends, was an outstanding human being (as was Chad Littlefield) and represented the ‘best’ of human nature lifted by Faith and love BUT (!) that doesn’t make him immune to foul, despicable behavior. Often these very brave men do “rush in where angels fear to tread” and certainly Chris’ warrior personality would indicate such. But to suggest some sort of “Lee Harvey O” conspiracy? The telling comment made by the foul person who shot both Kyle and Littlefield to his own sister… “I cannot trust them so I shot them…” is significantly accurate in pointing out psychosis. Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield died because in their kindness and devotion to “others” they overlooked, perhaps(!) but in retrospect certainly, signs and symptoms in Routh that (at least Kyle) they wouldn’t have in the middle of a battlefield. We lost good men, valiant warriors in life’s battle against darkness a

  • Sporting rifles vs assault rifles (public ownership vs the ones in the military)… Sadly Rep. Carolyn McCarthy has a following because she (like Feinstein, Boxer and Pelosi) gets reelected. If you use YouTube and watch any of those four you will experience (as folks have noted here) ‘mind numbing’ ignorance, inability to coherently discuss issues (with talking points in front of ‘em) and a lack of drawing valid conclusions based on a process of deduction. They often use the inductive method. That is, “oh, a crime has been committed, a gun was involved… any gun owner will commit a crime’. Similarly… (and inaccurately) , firearms are used in combat, women will be in combat, firearms will be used by women, women are small so they need a small firearm, assault (rifles) weapons are too big, rifles are smaller (doh!?)… and so forth. Their lack of intellect, investigative honesty and shallow interests lead them to the wrong conclusions time and time again… and Citizens pay the price (and their salaries).
There are some bright people in Government… but I don’t see a majority AND I do see (unabashedly) most of the dunderheads are liberal in the mindsets and agenda. However “bad people” often don’t need brains, just the support of foolish voters to wit Obama and the previously mentioned mental midgets. Then we have ‘bad intentions’ made into laws which again penalize “Honest Citizens.” Will it stop?

  • A valid verse. The response from the “left side” (threats to him and his family) is exactly why the verse is proper and fitting. Obama and his Chicago friends have shown time and time again that “if you disagree with them or their ideals or ideology” you will be crucified in all media including personal ad hominem attacks. The left is foul, filled with supporters of the Occupy movement and is completely intolerant of any disagreement but tout themselves as the “tolerant party.” What a sham.

  • There was ‘no’ body slam as they removed her from her car or away from her car. The closest officer was pulled (possibly by the suspect) off his balance, stumbled and fell taking everyone down. The second filmed body slam is that exactly and will result in at least one officer being fired and possibly brought up on “assault under the color of authority.” Sad day for him… wonder ‘if’ the female has a record of resisting arrest (and females can harm men, no doubt)… bad deal.
