  • I am all in favor of bring corporal punishment back. Some kids need a swat or two…

  • I don’t care who the kid is, if these kids parents or any one besides a policing agency directed that punishment I would be fine with it. It is not an Officer’s job to punish. They are to apprehend offenders of the law and bring them in so they can have their day in court. Administering punishment is beyond the bounds of the Officer’s authority.

  • Bert Exactly. It is not so much that the punishment was harsh or inappropriate. IT is the precedent that can be set from such scenarios that is dangerous.

  • It would be nice if the audio played…

They may hate his remarks but I can’t say I don’t agree with them at least partially.

Buttpatriot… Nothing is free. Take an econ class man. There may not be a direct cost to you, but rest assured some one some where is footing that bill. When that is the Gov’t then the tax payers foot the bill, so instead of directly paying for services rendered, if needed, many will end up paying for services they have not and may never use. Take Econ 101. First lesson, there is no such thing as a free lunch

  • First let me start of with saying good for Kendra. Now lets think back to last week where the 15 year old shot a friend who he felt was an intruder because of an elaborate prank. Many were outraged that a 15 year old had access to a gun and felt he should be charged for shooting his friend even though he had every reason to believe there was an intruder. Everyone was hung up on the gun. Now we have a 12 year old girl who thought there was an intruder gained access to a gun and shot someone. Only difference being that now it was a “bad guy” and we praise her (rightfully so).

  • What cops have you been dealing with? I have dealt with several while they are on duty and other off duty. I have never had one problem. Which laws have you gotten in trouble and did not know you were breaking the law? More and more cops answer to the public, there are several lawsuits dealing with cops and use of force. Ever increasing are ways that cops can be held liable for their actions. Are there bad cops sure there are, but there are many good cops, you just dont hear about them in the news because it is a much more compelling story to talk about how they shot some one, not how they saved a woman from getting beaten within an inch of her life by a drunken husband.

  • I smell something sinister here. I have not been around very long, but I do not recall the UN commenting on US elections like this, not even when we had McCain running. I don’t like it

  • Obama won that before he had done anything what so ever. He did not earn or deserve it. And the Bin Laden thing, well I don’t remember where I saw it but there was something out about how Hillary organized most of it and the pres wasn’t told until they were in Pakistani Airspace. I do not know if that is true and do not put a lot of weight behind it, but it makes you think. We all know his foreign policy sucks.

  • Mil-Dot, StatutoryApe,

Do you realize the dangers that come with shooting to wound? All of a sudden you are asking them to shoot a small and very difficult target, they miss and you run the risk of hitting a bystander. I admit the story is sketchy at best, but until more information comes I will not be as quick as you to condemn the officers actions. Depending on the weapon she had they could have been well within rational action. Are some officers quick on the trigger sure, but to paint with such a broad brush is dangerous. There is a reason center mass is the region that all CCW, Police, and Military train to aim at. Hitting moving limbs is very dangerous and difficult. They also are trained to avoid heat shots for the same reason.
