  • RODOGG, Utah’s permit does not require concealment; legally these teacher will now be able to openly carry their firearm while on school property.
Generally, Utah allows open carry for all residents with some restrictions. With the CFP those restrictions are waived.

  • In many cities and states, the canine is a certified police officer with their own badge.

  • @ BHOMUSTFAIL
Completely disagree… open carry serves every purpose concealed carry does… open carry tells the low-lifes they are risking their lives if they try something.

  • @ Ranger
The permit to conceal does just what it says: it permits you to conceal your firearm; it is not a requirement. I’ve had a concealed weapons permit for many years, and I still open carry because it’s easier for me.
I won’t debate any of your points except your last one. Surprise is not your most powerful asset. To surprise a bad guy means that you have given him the chance to commit the crime. Deterrent is a better tool; which is why police departments have obviously marked police cars that patrol the cities, why stores have visible anti-theft devices and cameras, why security guards where boldly stated shirts or uniforms, etc.
A bad guy, not a crazy guy, will reconsider his plans if he sees obvious signs of deterrents in the way of his goal.
This guy may have been within his rights, just as you and I are within our rights… but MANY others would question our wisdom to carry firearms at all.

Statistically, the probability of the 100th flip being heads is still 50/50. The previous 99 times have no reflection on the current toss.
In my opinion, open carry mean you have a holster with an additional restraint; for example, mine requires pressure from the thumb and that it be draw forward, not backward. Two people have tried to take my pistol from behind, both training scenarios, and neither succeeded because of my holster and my reaction.
Carrying a pistol is all about your comfort level. I open carry most times because it’s easier on my back, and doesn’t stretch out my pants. I conceal carry only when I have to.

  • This was funny… in that you think Wicca had something to do with it.

I’ve been a practicing Wiccan for over two decades, experienced some of the worst tragedies an earthly life has to offer, and have yet been “open” to anything which you elude.

Have I experienced hauntings? Yes. Do I believe ghosts are real? Yes. Do I believe that Christians have a strong faith in their god? Yes. Do I believe each religion has their own effective ways of dealing with ghosts? Yes.

ANY ritual can have an adverse effect on spirits if not completed properly. It is the faith in these rituals, and the will of the affected, that make them work.

  • @Luke21
Our theology differs too much to have this discussion here. I refuse to proselytize my beliefs on a web site. But I appreciate your beliefs, and respect and defend them to my fullest ability. However, the pastor in this story gets that same respect from me. This was his way of communing with his god, and he felt it appropriate for the crowd he was before.

  • “Once upon a time, when men wore hats, they would take their hats off and bow their heads when they prayed. What kill joys, huh? Aren‘t we all glad we’re not like THOSE generations.”

I just gotta say, not much irritates me more than the disrespect displayed by not removing your hat.

  • I have not scorned your book in anything I have said, I have simply offered my view of what I have read… yes, I read the Bible, eleven times. I found it to be an interesting collection of stories passed down through history by oral and written tradition.

  • @Okie from Muskogee
People here talk as if your book dictates to them what must be done to worship god. His people have made him a ruler by their own interpretation. The Bible is not one book, as it is made up of many books and stories; and I do not believe we have seen even half of what was written at the time.
I appreciate your offer to find god, but I have already found the creators and worship them appropriately with words, music, art, critical thinking, and humor.
