None of the politicians are unemployed. Oh wait, a recent election changed that. A good start.
Happy illusions! Big Smiles! Friendly numbers! Whoopeeee!!!!
What the F^^^ manner of hallucinogen are these punks smoking? Artificial numbers built on top of illusions do not constitute growth. Until we get some of our own manufacturing in here and stop monetizing the debt, we're headed for a wipeout that will annihilate the country economically.
Agreed. Anybody that believes this government deserves their fast-food job.
If 0bama runs an economy so far into the crapper then want to take credit for the numbers coming back up, sorry democrats that's smoke and mirrors, Lies and Manipulation. The stock market is manipulated up, the unemployment numbers are Manipulated down this isn't an economy. When this democrat bubble bursts you watch the cry baby democrats will be blaming Republicans. I drove by the food bank line yesterday and I've never seen it as long as it was, EVER!!!!! Around 2 blocks here in lowly democrat central Bham wa.
If only 1 person is working, you can double employment if only 1 person gets a job.
The jump in GDP print came from personal spending and 2/3rds of that from healthcare spending aka OBAMACARE...
So, the "unexpected" jump was from consumers spending more on healthcare.. but don't tell anybody the propaganda value is #WINNING
"And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!"
"Sales of New Homes in U.S. Unexpectedly Fall to Four-Month Low"
"New-home purchases were down 3.7 percent from November 2013 on an unadjusted basis, today’s report showed. "
We have a a very low labor usage, and 7 million involuntarily part time workers (versus a norm of 2 million) and flat or declining wage growth.
The fossil fuel energy sector has really been creating wealth, but that's while swimming against the tide of regulation. Thankfully, the energy producers have still managed to innovate.
Meanwhile, costs for the average family have risen—my own health care insurance costs doubled (mine is up to $550/month… contrast this to my $26/month auto insurance from Insurance Panda… or my $12/month renters insurance from Eagle… both private-enterprise!).
I suppose we can all buy new Apple iphones, so the unemployed can speak to each other (probably on credit, like 40% of what the government spends), or we can pretend that the script printed by the fed was real wealth. The fed was printing about 6.5% of GDP worth of script and measuring (somehow) a 2% growth in economic activity. Do we measure the movement of printed script as wealth creation?
Our nations economics, and it’s role in the wider world economy, is so complex and diversified that no politician nor any political party has any real influence. Blaming anyone or giving credit to anyone just speaks to a big lack of any understanding of basic economics.
It’s both amusing and sad, actually scary, that people have so little understanding of economics, complexity, and the role, or lack of, politics.
This is The Blaze's weakest area. They have no or very little economic reporting. Then they parrot manipulated numbers? Really this is the best you can do for "the truth"?
For real economic news you should all check http://www.zerohedge.com.
A detailed breakdown for the GDP cooked numbers..
"not only did the US Department of Economic Truth completely fabricate its GDP numbers earlier, but the way it got to said fabrication is by fudging - for the second month in a row - both the entire Personal Income and Personal Saving data series."
Gas at 2.37 a gallon, best job growth since 1999, unemployment under 6%, stock market over 18,000,, GDP growing at its fastest pace in a decade, Russia’s economy crumbling, and Obama’s approval approval rating up 10 points since last month. Ha! Ha! Ha! Your ship is going down in flames, Right Wingers!!!
Here's the real reason for the 'growth.' 12% increase in healthcare....
