I agree it is a sad day for our grand old state. But there is one good thing that came out of todays elections. Tim Scott won his primary so there is still some hope! I’m sure the states democrats had a hand it Lindsey’s win.

How many times have you had to make a life or death decision in a matter of seconds? I would venture to say NEVER. So what prey tell would be your solution? No more law enforcement? Well that’s a bone head idea for obvious reasons. Better training? How much law enforcement training have you been through? Have you even bothered to do a “ride along” with your local PD? I would venture to say NO.

Let me ask you this. Do you personally know EVERY police officer in this country personally? From what you wrote here it would seem that you do. The crappy thing is the only video being posted online are of cops make mistakes, or do something wrong. You never see videos posted when cops are out doing charity work, or working with youth groups, or when they are checking up on the elderly. Where are those videos?

These men and women are given their training and then put out in a world where most people “hate cops” for one stupid reason or another and are expected to act flawlessly. Are you flawless at your job? Have you never made a mistake? I would venture to say NO. This officer saw a perceived threat and took the action he was trained to do. He had seconds to make that decision however you have all the time in the world to criticize him. This will be the likely outcome of this incident. The old man will be fine, and the officer will quit due to fear of second guessing himself.

By the way. I live in York County SC and fully support ALL law enforcement in my area. IN

As far as your statistics I noticed you didn’t say 309 INNOCENT people. How many of those 309 people needed to be killed ”i.e threatened the cop”? How many were killed in traffic accidents that involved a cop? I also noticed you didn’t mention the 105 police officers killed last year in the line of duty: https://www.odmp.org/search/year?year=2013 If you are going to put out facts please include ALL the facts.

I think this quote from a few good men says it all:

“I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don’t give a damn what you think you are entitled to.”

Another words for all you cop hater if you can do a better job im sure your local PD is hiring.

I guess it would also depend on your job in correlation to the photo. If you’re a firefighter probably not a good idea to post a pic of yourself setting a house fire. As for what this young women did. What if she was on her off time but worked for the VA? I guess I get her intent but as a vet I am offended by the pic. She could have found another way to “buck authority”.
