    For the real story about the significance of religion and December 25th, just watch The Zeitgeist documentary, the first part, titled The Greatest Story Ever Told…

    I said this in another post, but it bears repeating here…enjoy the cut & paste…

    Gotta love the true face of America.

    Interfere with someone’s ability to buy the next new meaningless gadget and the Jerry Springer gene rears its head.

    Wish that ISON comet would make a U-turn and wipe out 99.9% of the people here – myself and immediate family excluded, naturally. Nothing against all you other folks, but we, as a people (and I mean the entire planet), need an extinction-level event to take us down a peg or two…

    By the way…Happy Thanksgiving weekend to everyone. Who coulda guessed that the slaughter of 600 American Indians would be turned into a national holiday!

    Apparently, we didn’t drop enough. Just sayin’…

    @Bushdiver…

    I don’t think I fall in the low tolerance or unconditioned category. Been drinking coffee since my late teens, and while in the Army, I considered it an acutal food group. I’ll just chalk it up to getting old(er)…

    Never had a cigarette that made me *****. Although I have had one or two that made me eat a lot of junk food.

    Come to think of it, in a round-a-bout way…I guess they contributed to a *****…

    Probably as much as it cost to do a study to figure out the average time housewives spend in each room of their house on a daily basis…

    As to the article – I started drinking decaf a few months ago. For whatever reason, if I drink caffienated coffee, it gives me the “green apple splatters” about an hour later…sexy, I know. Guess it’s part of getting older…

    Before I switched to decaf, I could sit in bed reading a book and drink coffee and still go right to sleep. I’ve always enjoyed coffee at all times of the day. Drinking it in the mornings more or less became a ritual habit, rather than “needing” it to wake up and get moving.

    Regardless of what the media says, here’s what I say…

    I don’t subscribe to any religion – Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and all their off-shoots. I don’t need a book to tell me I should be kind and decent to my fellow man, or to lash out with righteous justice when I (or my family) has be wronged.

    Having said that, I’ll also say this – our country was founded and built upon Judeo-Christian principles and teachings and, although twisted and misguided at times by politicians and corrupt religious figures, those principles and teachings have worked out pretty well so far. The teachings of Islam, whether considered radical or not, have no place in an advanced society. Do I have a problem with people that follow Islam? Nope, just like I don’t have a problem with my neighbor that goes to church three times a week and displays a cross in their yard. Doesn’t bother me a bit. But if that same neighbor decides to force their beliefs and teachings down my throat, THEN we have a problem.

    The guy in the video asking a group of 1500 muslims if they are radicals is the equivalent of randomly gathering people from bars and taverns across the country and asking which ones are alcoholics.

    The various idealistic “wars” we wage…the war on poverty, the war on drugs, ad nauseum…will never be “won” for one simple reason: there’s no money in it.

    If politicians could figure out a way to make a few million dollars each by “winning” these “wars”, you’d see the nation, and the world, clean up pretty quick. As it is, there’s more involved fighting than winning…

    TimEngle…I usually don’t post anything, as I mostly prefer to just read the stories and the comments people leave. For the most part, there are people here that I agree with and, at times, actually admire their intelligence and sense of humor (folks like TheMonk, Gonzo, and other likeminded people). However, there are times that I bother to actually log in and give my opinion on things.

    With THAT being said, I’d also like to say, as a retired Army Non-Commissioned Officer with nine combat deployments in 20 years, regardless of what YOU think, a Soldiers’ service to his or her country IS important! Not everyone has the balls (or ovaries) to volunteer for service – to some, it’s a calling…a duty…an honor!!

    So, I’ll respect your opinion that you think his service isn’t important. My opinion is just as important – which is, I think you’re a worthless piece of garbage that wouldn’t know what Duty & Honor meant if someone spelled it out in crayon.

    And you’re right, everybody does get a pie in the face, sometimes. And I’d like to hit you with one – really hard – and knock your f’n teeth out.

    Feel free to contact me and I’ll buy you a bus ticket to my house so I can personally show you want I mean.

    Unappreciative little *****…

    @Fly…you’re not referring to the “beauty salon” near Brundidge, Alabama, on Highway 231, are you?

    @East…Ha! I just played those songs at a gig last night! Absolutely love Floyd!

    Maybe they would have both been better served if she had been doing her job and actually watching after the kid, instead of using the Xbox, Playstation, or computer as a babysitting tool? Can’t really blame her for it, though. I’m sure on the way out the door, his parents told her, “Just let him play video games or something until he gets bored and goes to bed. That’s what he always does…”

    Sorry that she had to die due to his parents’ ineptitude at being…gasp…parents.

    Hey, Voice…if removing guns from law-abiding citizens is your answer, how about we ban eating utensils from everyone that isn’t fat?

    Or, maybe we can just ban the lead paint chips you must be eating, while hanging out under those big power lines…

    @Darth
    I have my “papers” on me at all times. My drivers license, my retired military ID card, and my social security card. Plenty of ID to prove I’m an American citizen. Unlike the goat-licker that raped and beat this poor lady.

    To quote my good friend, George Carlin, “He should be covered in brown gravy and locked in a small closet with a wolverine that’s high on cocaine.”

    Roger that, Mick. It’s been probably 30 years since I’ve heard the song. I sit, corrected…I’m tired of standing :)

    I thought it was “Too late! She’d done got a glimpse!”…?

    “It would be a very good thing for the Democrats,” said Democratic consultant Paul Begala. “How many people would look at a 60-year-old man with long hair and a loincloth screaming the C-word about Hillary Clinton and say, ‘I wanna be like him?’”

    That’s funny. How many of us want to look at a fake ass black guy (whose age we are unsure of) that, with the help of his cronies, has turned this country into nothing but a nation full of back-alley, apathetic, selfish, corrupt people that only care about themselves and what they can get from someone else…and say, “I wanna be like him?”

    Tell you what, Paul. I’d rather be a rat eating crumbs from Nugent’s goatee than be a prince eating from Obama’s silver platter!

    @JROOK
    What does having the ability to speak three languages do with anything? It’s pretty obvious that Ms. Jeantel has yet to master the language and speech patterns of a 12 year old, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that the only languages she’s learned is from her favorite cRap artist and Yo! MTV Raps…

    I don’t say much on here but, I just had to post this on Facebook, just to stir the pot. Wonder how long it will be before it gets yanked…
