  • All of us know how tough that decision will be but as others have said you will know when that time has come. When that dreadful day came for my precious companion, I took her favorite blanket along and the attendant wrapped her in it before placing her gently in the box I brought her home in for burial. While my husband dug her grave I sat on the couch and picked her up again and held her closely for one more sad and tearful goodbye. Strangely, that seemed to help me. She looked like she was simply taking a nap as she had done so often after tiring romps in the park. I planted daffodils on top of her grave and every spring when they bloom I smile and imagine her romping through them in heaven waiting for me to once again come play. Eventually I rescued another pup to love and she too is wonderful but each animal is special in their own way. I love my current one immensely and she has helped heal the hole left in my heart the day my other one died. It seems she intuitively knew the huge task she had. She makes me laugh and I still smile each spring when the daffodils bloom.God bless you and your family. You are in my prayers.

  • I find it extremely coincidental that the Admiral in charge of the battlegroup that could have sent planes to help in Benghazi (and supposedly wanted to but was denied) has been “relieved for cause” from his position.

  • I’m sure we will see this comment in an Obama ad during the general campaign.

  • Talk about shooting from the hip!! Santorum is out to lunch if he thinks Obama would be better than any republican candidate. It’s time for him to pack his suitcase and get out of the way. We need someone who is mature enough to take on the serious issues we are facing – not someone so petty he would make a comment like that.
