  What has worked for you will work for any couple who agree together to such respect. My wife of 53 years and I have had a wonderful marriage and I respect her far more now than I did as a youngster – as I know she does me. From your title “HMSCHLMOM” I’m supposint that you have home schooled your children. Another positive to be sure. We’re happy that you and your husband are doing so well (as are we that Ms. Gabrielle and her husband are) and this is possible for ANY properly wed and loving couple by the Grace of God. 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If My people who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear their voices from heaven and heal their land (and marriages”!!!

  This is soooo true! We have multiple MILLIONS out of work (the phony 7.6% unemployment rate does not show the facts) and many, many of them have simply given up on permanent jobs. Many are forced to work for “relatives, friends, acquaintances, or others and usually for cash – which works against the “tax” system.
  Blaming Obama (or Bush) is ridiculous tho because there are places where there is an abundance of jobs available. Midland/Odessa, TX is hurting for people to work at lessor paying jobs because everyone there is employed in the oilfields. Same situation in N/S Dakota – and lots of other places. Seems everywhere I go, I see signs “Help Wanted” – so why aren’t they able to find work? Maybe because the gov’t is so quick to provide a “meal for a day” and in doing so, destroy whatever work ethic these folks have.
  As for some of the comments above, (Oldwhiteguy for instance) how would like this sort living across the fence in the woods behind your house?

  Feeding these people a few meals will NOT HEAL THE STEALING! Only a real relationship with the God of Creation can do that. If there is even ONE in each of the “families” who is willing to work, help that one to find WORK – that too is good incentive but that will not heal the “thieving mechanism” built into their psyche. “Feed a man a big meal and give him a sack of food for a week and he will eat for a week – but – teach him how to feed himself and he will eat for a lifetime”. But he’s still a thief!
  In the case of these copper thefts, it is very probable that the damage they do is FAR, FAR in excess of the price they get for the copper. In MS, you MUST have a license to sell copper plumbing or A/C copper to a dealer – so you have some “crooked” dealers in your area which need “looking into”. Stop the demand and you’ll stop the source!

  Is it possible that this man, “Kluckcsnski” is NOT AWARE that the USA was founded by Christians (who believe the Holy Bible to be literally and in every other way, completely TRUE? America was founded by Christians who came here to establish a land where they (WE) could do exactly that. That is, “Worship God as we see fit”. In the early days, there was very little disagreement on that fact and the disagreements were not well received – to say the least. But, in a little over one hundred years, people had come together enough to establish a government and a CONSTITUTION they could completely agree on and agree on it they did! It has served us well now for over two hundred years and Christians and non-Christians alike MUST agree that these people who would consider Christians as “the enemy” are themselves, to be most feared. This is why they have more than 1.6 BILLION HOLLOW POINT BULLETS!! I seriously doubt that all the “Bible Believing Christians” together in the USA have that many hollow points – so who is to be feared?? Consider well whom you will serve “But as for me and my house, we will serve The Lord”.

  It would be so nice if folks could restrict their comments to such things as “praying for you” or that “God may get glory even from such trajedy” – but since that probably will not happen, Christians should restrict their comments to basic condolences, prayers, etc and simply leave the rebuttals of ugly comments alone. It will do no good whatsoever to make ugly comments to insensitive comments, etc. It’s at times like this that our Christianity CAN come thru.

  Dr. Ablow is exactly right. I only wish that his article were longer as he has hit on some extremely good points about where our young people (and hence, our nation) are headed as a “society”, Even a “self-loathing loser and complete social-failure” can make him/herself feel good with most of our social network possibilities. The much overused term in public advertisements and more importantly, private conversations, such as: – “The “great stuff” (insert your own ideas here) YOU deserve – - ” or – “Give yourself the “treat” (etc) you are “ENTITLED to” are so detrimental to our young and they haven’t a clue! I have no doubt that such feelings abounded in the general public German population (and for that matter, the Jewish “ghettos” of the pre-World War era – and maybe the rest of the then affluent world) and look what that came to. If we got what we truly “deserved” we would come off as being a most pitiable generation indeed. Sometimes, I think that maybe we would be better off as a”loin-cloth wearing, tent dwelling, sheep herding group of nomads were we to worship God in the manner prescribed in HIs Gospel than to dwell in our modern cities and live lives of affluence as we do. As certainly as we “came from nothing” we shall return to the same – and our eternal souls should be our only real concern. God help us for we seem unable to do so ourselves.

  Instead of lots of disparaging comments about this trip, we might consider that it is possible that the net result will be good. Communication between enemies (potential or real) is an absolute necessity. Communication with partisan intentions is usually not – but we might just consider that the USA has much to gain from ANY communication with a people so denied as the North Koreans.
  Tho we are a free nation and have so very many wonderful things to be thankful for, we have so many faults here as to render us almost “heathen”. Consider our rampant crime records: murders, assaults, racism (multi-directional) robberies, common theft, drug usage, rape, so many kinds of fraud they cannot be listed here, public displays of the worst imaginable vulgarity – all this and much, much more – especially the fact that there is an abortion performed in the USA every 90 seconds. Let us hope that from this visit may come some good. That is possible for sure and as simple “observers” hold our hostile criticisms and do a little “domestic” examination.

  This “professor” is a terrorist – plain and simple. Military Guy has it exactly right – Georgetown and many other of our nations leading universities are perfect examples of the breeding grounds of people who would see our way of life destroyed and who label the Fathers of our Nation with all kinds of indiscriminate-stupid adjectives. Truthfully, our Forefathers were exceedingly intelligent, Christian Patriots with the future of the greatest nation on earth on their minds when this was written for our very survival – and happiness. AND, no matter how much they complain, those men were Christian and we cannot change that. God help the USA.
