  As an aside, I live in NY and NEVER saw or heard of DHS showing up to any Occupy Wall Street demonstrations.

  Unions. Unions love tough times because their members seem to do better. But when the economy takes off, the individual union guy doesn’t get to participate, stuck in his $60/hour job, plus benefits. So the fact Thatcher lifted Britain out of terrible economic rimesin the late ’70′s/early ’80′s doesn’t Matt to them.

  Thatcher lifted Britain out of terrible economic times in 1979. The good times enjoyed thru the 1980-2007 is due to HER, not Labour.

  Like here, these are the tweets of the “tolerant” Left (unions and never ending welfare types) which are countered by those more in tune with history which shows Thatcher lifting Britain out of terrible economic doldrums and helping to win the Cold War.
  It was reported recently Brtain’s debt to GDP is over 90% – without Thatcher that threshold would have been crossed 20 years ago.
