They need to start handing out a wolf tag with each elk or deer tag purchased.

Marcotte is a deranged loon and should not be taken seriously.

We homeschool and my wife worked as a 1 on 1 aide in middle school and high school. I was in the process of switching careers to go teach in a continuation school to try and be a role model, mainly for the young men as I’m a horrible sexist and believe that young men need older men as role models. Unfortunately my health took a dump and things changed.
That said, there is a need for public schooling as well as parents who have enough time to give a rip about their public students. It’s hard to run a family on a single income and it has gotten harder with the stagnation of middle class wages for the last 30 some odd years. Plus, sometimes families break apart and there is no parent at home to teach.
My solution? Strip out anything remotely related to socialization, social issues and non-core subjects as being mandatory. Make all non-core subjects pay as you go, including, horror of horrors, sports. This will force parents to have an active financial stake in what their students are learning outside of the Three R’s. We all know, that when you have money on the line, you’re more likely to pay attention to what you’re spending it on.

That wasn’t the road up to Onion Valley, was it? I sure hope they sent a street sweeper ahead of them.

Maybe they didn’t rehearse after setting up and the sound tech wasn’t able to set levels.

How dare he take any responsibility for his community. Doesn’t he know that it is the domain of the State?

I live on the border of two of the counties listed. Our numbers are nowhere near that low.

They need to stand up and let whoever was cooking the burgers get to flipping them. Sitting in front of a bbq, in summer? Are they trying to lose all the hair on their faces? Maybe going for the slow char physical appearance?

He should have gone in anyway, and forced them to stop him.
There must be a law that states a U.S, Congressman can not be refused immediate access on demand to a U.S. Federal Facility. I would advise him to find that law and go back with an armed escort.

I think it was banned in MLB.

This is similar in theory to Math-U-See. That math curriculum comes with physical blocks representing the 100′s, 10′s and 1′s. You use the blocks to build small addition and subtraction equations. It’s an interesting way to teach math for young children.
In this common core example, not only do they think you should do the math problem, they expect you to build the math manipulatives. Maybe they’ll improve it some day and hand the kid a miter saw, a block of wood and say solve 2 + 10 using the blocks you make.
Schools are failing because we are teaching to the lowest common denominator and are emphasizing social agendas at the expense of the three R’s.
At a certain age, using manipulatives is very helpful to young children. When I taught mine, we used cheerios and legos to help get the concept across. The problem is when 3rd and 4th grade students are made to solve math problems this way. By that grade, they should know how to borrow and carry without drawing dots or whatever.
I used Math-U-See with my kids when I home schooled them. I highly recommend it. I was sold when I saw a demo video and for the first time, I could SEE a polynomial! Manipulatives are great for teaching the basic concept, but once it is learned, the student can move on to using the just the numbers to solve the problems.

Carlsbad is loaded. Doesn’t mean the money could be better spent, it’s just that it’s an island of cash insulated from the real world.

In one sense, I’m glad that liberals are being treated to the same routine as conservatives are on all the non-Fox channels. On the other hand, Hannity has a shtick where he just doesn’t allow a non-conservative to speak, let alone build an argument. We’re seeing a bit of a cathartic resolution, however, we are not seeing anything where two opposing world views are being discussed.
Don’t be deceived, why would a liberal book himself on a Hannity show unless he was ready for the meat grinder?
