  The job of law enforcement is first and foremost as a deterrent. If it weren’t then all police would be in plain clothes and in unmarked cars. Furthermore they are not revenue agents, it is up to the discretion of the officer as to whether or not they will cite you.

  You sir or madam are incorrect.

  Criminals are cowards.
  Cowards do not prey upon someone that will fight back.
  The mere presence of a gun on a person implies that they will fight back.
  Coward sees gun, coward chooses a different target.

  Gun has worked as a defensive weapon without being drawn, without being brandished, just by the fact that it exists and is visible.

  Concealed Carry laws do NOT deter crime. Open carry laws do.

  Guess no one taught her “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but your words will never hurt me”. Personally so sick of this bs, oh the poor girl, she was taunted on facebook. TURN THE DAMNED THING OFF! My God, and then the blaze goes and highlights this pathetic excuse for a story? Why not run a story about the thousands who suffer the torments silently, with strength and dignity? The thousands if not millions who don’t go crying to the internet, who don’t go killing ourselves because some jackhole moron expressed their opinion. To the young girl, really this is how you show thankfulness for the gifts you are given? To cry because someone is critical of you? Get over yourself, pull up your big girl panties and move on, most likely the “bullies” didn’t even think another thought about you after hitting the post button.

  @SMGHVACR Here’s the thing. There is a social contract that binds the very threads of society together. They are simple treat yourself and others with dignity and respect. You say you are an ex-felon, did 10 years. That’s not a small thing. You chose your path. You decided you were more important than everyone and anyone else. Instead of whining about not being able to have a gun be thankful that you have been given another opportunity to make something worthwhile of yourself. If everyone chose like you did, there would be no society left. That’s why you cannot have a gun and if you get one you go away for the rest of whats left of it.
