  I wouldn’t blame Denny’s for one idiot employee. Back when I worked in law enforcement, the Denny’s near our office was extremely LE friendly, offering discounts and giving great service. No company is 100% free of jerks, so I plan to continue eating there.

  For 99.999% of Americans, Halloween is as religious as the Fourth of July or Valentine’s Day. The trick or treaters at my door weren’t worshiping anything, and I wasn’t handing out religion with the candy. Arguing the historic roots is silly when pretty much nobody participating cares. Halloween is about candy and costumes and enjoying the spooky side of life. It’s on a level with ghost stories around a campfire. As a favorite song of mine goes, “Life’s no fun without a good scare.”

  I would be in favor of drugs being legal only if I had the legal right to shoot addicts in the face if they came anywhere near me.
