    I’m hoping this isn’t serious, but how on earth do you describe Penn Jillette as a “liberal.” The guy is extremely libertarian, and doesn’t want government involvement in almost any area.

    Now I can see how you believe the President is a Muslim– you have no ability to grasp facts.

    I would like the buffet rule to be implemented: no one making over 1 million a year can have an effective tax rate of under 30%. However, besides that I wouldn’t raise taxes on the “wealthy” any higher than they are now. I want us to go completely back to the Clinton tax rates– on all income groups.
    Social issues: I’m pro gay marriage, pro choice (not late term), and I’m not pro gun but also not in favor of new gun restrictions.
    Defense spending: We have increased spending drastically after 9/11. If we end wars and minimize the number of foreign bases we have then we could cut defense spending.

    So you’re asserting that it is bad to be a centrist/moderate? I don’t like aspects of the left and the right. I like different policy prescriptions for specific issues and do not believe the government should fix every problem, while I simultaneously don’t believe the government should not be involved in solving any issues.

    You don’t have to be a be an extremist when it comes to politics. I am far from a leftist if you actually knew my positions on many issues. The Democratic Party would be very against my views on domestic spending (including entitlement reform), while the Republican Party would be against my views on defense spending, taxes and “social issues.”

    So, without knowing any of my positions, you proclaim that I’m some far leftist. All I tried to say was that it is laughable to say that it would be better to live in Putin’s Russia than Obama’s America. I never said our country has a perfect record on civil rights and liberties, however this site could be seen as a testament to American free speech and press. If the blaze was a Russian site which attacked Putin, it would probably be shut down and its employees in danger of being physically hurt.

    Also, I don’t follow your incoherent ramblings, but I supposedly like Iran’s president, who you state is a popular figure for American liberals. First of all, I find mahmoud ahmadinejad to be a disgusting human being on many front. Secondly, I’m not sure how you came to the conclusion that liberals like Ahmadinejad.

    So it is a good thing that Russia infringes on free speech/ freedom of assembly, while not intervening when mobs attack people….
    I just can’t tell if you guys are serious or not. You may not like Obama, but if you took one minute to investigate Putin’s record on civil liberties (or any issue really) then you would see how terrible this man is. Judging by your logic Hitler was a great leader since he had harsh policies against gays.

    B) supporting same sex marriage means you don’t love/support your country? Does this apply to libertarians who support same sex marriage? I’m confused on why Putin’s opposition to same sex marriage reverses the terrible things Putin has done. Forcibly taken over the entire energy industry in his country, killing or intimidating all opponents. In Russia journalists are murdered for opposition towards Putin. A rock band was arrested for opposing Putin.

    Why does this man love his country yet Obama doesn’t?

    Do you actually think that living under Putin’s rule would be better than living in America right now? In Russia a site like the blaze would be banned because it writes negative articles about the president. Putin’s cronies murder journalists. If you truly believe Putin is better than Obama then you are delusional.
