If by "cult" you mean a church that is literally lead and directed by Jesus Christ, then okay.
My mother warned me that the Mormons are a cult. My pastor (Presbyterian) warned me, one of my uncles also warned me, but the other uncle was a Mormon. My dad joined the Mormons much to my mother's dismay. I decided to check it out for my self. I asked what the most fundamental doctrine of the religion was. The answer: "We embrace all truth, no matter what its source, realizing of course, that a lot of error is represented as truth." I really liked that answer so I kept listening. It's been 53 years since I left the Presbyterians and joined the restored church of Jesus Christ. My experience has been entirely positive. I love Christ, he is my Redeemer, Savior, the Creator of all things, our only hope of eternal life. Everyone needs to check it our for themselves, learn a little and pray about it. It's pretty simple.
Excellent testimony Jacksonpemberton! Thank you for that uplifting comment.
JacksonPemberton has only posted a few times and never leaves a comment where you can reply to him . Funny he is always posting close and near to P8triot . Well Jackson you challenged me about the Book of Mormon , all you have to do is click on my name to see errors in the BOM. Why don't you get from under P8triots skirt and converse. I can post more errors if you like.
1 Corinthians 13
... and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth
Book of Mormon
... for if he have not charity he is nothing; wherefore he must needs have charity. And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth
Paul's letters to the Corinthians would not have been available to Moroni, yet the alleged author Moroni plagiarizes extensively from Paul's letters. Joseph Smith recognized that he shouldn't make a word for word copy and chose to paraphrase instead, but it is still very clear that 1 Corinthians is the source
1 Corinthians 15
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Book of Mormon
Therefore, I would that ye should be steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent, may seal you his,
Another anachronism. The LDS Church dates Mosiah 5 to about 124 B.C., yet it plagiarizes a phrase from 1 Corinthians in the New Testament.
II Kings 25:7 "And they slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and put out the eyes of Zedekiah..."
Jeremiah 39:6 "Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah."
Book of Mormon:
Heleman 8:21 "...Will ye say that the sons of Zedekiah were not slain, all except it were Mulek? Yea, and do ye not behold that the seed of Zedekiah are with us, and they were driven out of the land of Jerusalem?..."
There is no mention of a son of Zedekiah named Mulek in the Bible, and it says that his sons were slain. But the Book of Mormon contradicts and says that his son, Mulek, lived.
Micah 5:2 “But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.”
Matthew 2:1 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea…”
Isaiah 7:14 “Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Book of Mormon:
Alma 7:10 “And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem, which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin…”
First, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, not Jerusalem. Second, in none of the Bible's predictions is a name given, why then is Mary's name given in the Book of Mormon? Maybe it's because Joseph Smith knew that Mary would be the mother of Jesus.
I Nephi 11:13 "...and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceedingly fair and white."
I Nephi 12:23 "And it came to pass that I beheld, after they had dwindled in unbelief they became a dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people..."
I Nephi 13:15 "...and I beheld that they were white, and exceedingly beautiful, like unto my people before they were slain."
According to the Book of Mormon then, the Jews were white and turned dark and loathsome after they dwindled in unbelief. Does this make sense to anyone?
I Nephi 18:25, II Nephi 12:7, Enos 1:21, Alma 18:9-12, III Nephi 3:22, and Ether 9:19 all refer to horses and/or cattle.
Horses and cattle were not living in America until the Europeans brought them over in the 1500s.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken..."
Joseph Smith said that six foot men, dressed like Quakers, live on the moon and live to be 1000 years old. (The Young Woman's Journal,Vol 3,p263)
Joseph Smith claimed that Jesus would return by 1891 (History of the Church,Vol.2,p182)
-Matthew 24:35-36 "Heaven and earth shall pass away...But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." - Jesus says that no man would know when the end of the world would come, why would He reveal it then to Joseph Smith. Secondly, it didn't happen.
Brigham Young claimed that men inhabit the sun. (Journal of Discourses, Vol.13, p.271, 10/24/1870)
Brigham Young also prophesied that the Civil War would not free the slaves.(Journal of Discourses, Vol.10, p.250, 10/6/1863)
Saints to gather to Independence, Mo. and build Temple (D&C 84)
No longer teach the gathering and temple never built.
Zion (Independence, Mo.) can not fall (D&C 97:19)
Mormons driven out.
Army to redeem Zion (Independence, MO) (D&C 103)
Mission unsuccessful. V.30-34 God seems to be unsure about how large an army to raise.
Civil War Prophecy (D&C 87)
England and other nations did not join in.
United Order (D&C 104)
V.1 Commanded as everlasting order; V.48 & 53 dissolved and reorganized.
Riches of Salem to pay church debt (D&C 111)
No riches found, debts not paid.
Apostle Patten to go on mission in Spring 1839 (D&C 114)
He was shot in Oct. of 1838. Wouldn't God have known he was going to die before the next spring?
New gathering place and temple in Far West (D&C 115)
LDS driven out, never built the temple.
Build a temple in Nauvoo and house for Smiths (D&C 124)
Temple and house not completed.
Christ to return in 1890-1891 period (D&C 130:14-15)
Christ did not return.
US Government must redress wrongs or be destroyed (History of the Church, vol.5, p.394, vol.6, p.116 and Millennial Star, vol.22, p.455.)
It doesn't and is not destroyed.
haha - seriously, you're losing it man.
I assure you that JacksonPemberton and I are not the same person. You're getting lost in all your conspiracy theories.
Do you believe that the government is building FEMA concentration camps? Wouldn't surprise me if you did.
Frankly the worst conspiracy theory you have been lost to is that of the myth that Jesus Christ never existed. That he was nothing more than an alter-ego or another name of God. Your third-century creeds that say God would pray to himself, claim to have begotten himself, submit his own will to himself, and try to confuse everyone by saying that he sent himself, tops the list of crazy conspiracy theories.

Exactly right. Acts 2:38 is the only way to be saved.

The homosexual movement is moving incrementally toward criminalizing all opposition to homosexuality, spoken or otherwise. Graham is correct.
Fortunately, a lot of Christians are very heavily armed. Let them try to shut us up.
For we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds: casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.. (2Co 10:3-5)
Better to open your mouth in prayer, long before one has to open fire.. at least that is how I see it.
