There is NO DOUBT that we still have racism running through our society. HOWEVER, I think that people are FAR to easily offended. Being offended, is a CHOICE. In this particular situation, & others like it, I think the bottom line is it comes down to perception. Sometimes perception in unintended & other times its very much intended. Take Ms. Horovitz from the video. She strikes me as a person who “looks for a cause” to be a part of. She, like most of us, wants something to give the sense of her/our life having meaning. That’s a good thing, at least until we go LOOKING for the “cause” everywhere. Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying. I ABHOR racism! I will fight it EVERYWHERE I SEE IT! What I WON’T do … is SEE IT EVERYWHERE! There IS a difference. And I think that some people, though their intentions may be good, regardless of their race/ethnicity get so involved with their “cause” that they perceive it at almost every turn. Similarly, as when you deal with people who have real problems with self esteem & confidence, they will take the most constructive criticism that you give, & mean in a VERY positive way, & perceive that you are telling them that they screwed up, they’ll never learn, & they should just go away. Which in fact is the VERY opposite of what you said or meant! We tend to perceive things incorrectly from fear as well. I see no racism here. Just a desire to run a clean, safe business. A very noble & desirable thing. PERCEPTION IS A VERY POWERFU

@Sojournerfortruth – you know, I agreed with EVERYTHING you said until I got to: “keep your “day care” raised kids in line or leave.” WHAT does “day care” have to do with ANYTHING? Talk about profiling! Why not just say, “if your children can’t behave, leave them at home.” I see it ALL THE TIME! Children that have not been taught to behave properly in public. I get that children are going to be children, but it’s gotten so bad that I HATE to go shopping. Children RUNNING through the store, SCREAMING, DISRESPECTFUL to their parents, ALL OF WHICH GOES UNCHECKED! I was in WalMart one night & the ENTIRE time I was shopping, from the OPPOSITE side of the store, I could hear a child WAILING at the top of his lungs! Finally in the dairy section our paths crossed. The sound literally made my ears THROB from the echo! I tried to politely suggest to mom (who was Hispanic) That she should explain to him that his behavior was inappropriate for public display. (he was old enough to know) She looked at me & said, “What!?!? You should want that I BEAT him?” I responded “No! I would want that you DISCIPLINE him! YOU are the parent, that when he grows up & gets in trouble with the law, you’ll sit with a blank look on your face, wondering, ‘Where did I go wrong?’ At which time, I hope you remember this conversation!” I probably shouldn’t have said so much, but her response made me angry. DAYCARE had/has NOTHING to do with it! PARENTS! Teach your kids how TO BEHAVE IN PUBLIC

@Tuttle Guess you didn’t watch the video? Horovitz . . . she’s WHITE . . . not sure why it matters, but apparently it does to you, so I just thought I’d clarify that for you.

You know, as sad, and yes even angry, as it always made me, to hear/read about something that was Fred Phelps/church related, it makes me equally sad (but not angry) to hear so many people seemingly enjoying the thought of another human beings life ending.

I matters not if you are shellyscorner (me), or one of the other many people that comment here on the Blaze or elsewhere for that matter… What we seem to loose site of, is that it’s ALL about ISSUES OF THE HEART! Everything you THINK, FEEL, SAY, or DO is about issues of the heart! WHAT you say, HOW you say it, WHEN you say it, WHERE you say it, WHY you say it. And you can trade the “say” with any of the previous verbs listed..(think, feel, etc.) The way we interact with the world is about the state of our heart at that one instant in time. And it matters not, whether it’s done or said where or when someone else can be privy to it or if we think that “WE” are the only one that knows, that no one is none the wiser, etc… But God knows. Frankly, I’m not interested in theological beliefs at the moment…and I won’t get involved in a discussion with anyone about if God’s real or not. I’m merely interested in pointing out how coldly we have become accustom to treating people.
    Just remember:

Matthew 12:36 – But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

I just urge you to remember that in as much as we judge others, so shall we also b

Sometimes we run across people who, no matter WHAT the subject matter is, they simply will NOT “GET IT” UNLESS THEY EXPERIENCE IT! Now,,. THAT being said…Hrothgar, having PERSONALLY EXPERIENCED … IT … I can TRULY say that I hope you remain in your own little world of peace, tranquility, and denial and NEVER have to suffer the VERY RUDE AWAKENING of experiencing the TRUTH. I TRULY hope that no one ever rocks you out of your world of denial!

Uhm, excuse me for a minute guys. I REALLY have to go throw-up now!

Ok. I’m back. Sorry for the delay. We all have to remember one thing. BELIEVE ME! This is SO hard for me to say. On one hand it gives me great comfort, on the other hand (hard part), it makes me very sad for Obama. ONE DAY, (coming sooner than ANY of us might think OR be ready for) we are ALL going to stand before Our Maker to be judged. Obama appears to be able to get away with anything in the here & now (& they called Clinton the “Teflon Man”) but Obama will not get away with ANYTHING on that ONE DAY OF JUDGEMENT. EVERYTHING that he has EVER done wrong (just like the rest of us), that he has failed to repent for, will cause him to be judged by THE JUDGE. He WILL be given a punishment worse than death, in fact, if I’m not mistaken, I think scripture says that those judged & found guilty will beg for death. I don’t remember the exact reference at the moment, but I could find it if I had to, that is assuming that I’m right, I have been wrong on occasion. But anyway, truthfully, that is the ONLY thing that allows me to tolerate what is going on in our world without completely losing my mind. There truly is a peace when you know, & CHOOSE TO REMEMBER, that God is STILL on the throne & IN CONTROL. His ways are NOT our ways, and we WILL NOT always understand what He ALLOWS, but, since He knows the end BEFORE it all began, I don’t guess we have to understand. I think that’s why it’s called FAITH.
