Experts Face Off on Immigration Reform in Contentious (And Unique) Segment
June 7, 2013 at 10:48am
David is barely old enough to remember what happened after amnesty in the 80s. Stating that legalizing the illegals will discourage others from coming? What world is he living in. At the end he was asked if he believed in open borders…basically he does. How realistic is that? He feels it is good for our economy.
We live in an area where refugees from 3rd world countries are being brought in. First Bosnians, many educated and industrious so did get off public assistance for the most part. Then Butu, Karen, Somali, Conanese and many others, 42 languages in ESL, school system destroyed and city going broke. Most on govt assitance. No benefit here, few taxpayers left, mass exodus of people from our area. Quality of life reduced.
David is naive

locked…your response about rejection has no basis in fact….I have 35 yrs experience in medicine plus my own experience with autoimmunity and the complexities of the immune system…and you?

Obamacare does not just determine insurance costs but also what is covered, what reimbursement is paid, estabishes guidelines for how care delivered. Suddenly routine mammo and pap guidelines are changing, coincidentally just as Obamacare to take effect. Cost cutting already starting.
Govt will use “approved” guidelines and standards of care. Basically cookbook medicine. As a person with two diagnoses missed because providers followed faulty guidelines I find this extremely frightening….we are all genetically unique and need to be treated as such

Guidelines that do not keep up with medical advancements DO have everything to do with Obamacare, and Sebilius is the chief administrator of that. She does not have any credentials that qualify her to make life and death decisions. And I practiced in Pediatrics for over 35 yrs, medicine is never one size fits all…algorithms and guidelines should only be suggestions, not dogma

It is a sample of things to come. Too much reliance on guidelines, many using outdated research or done by people with conflict of interest. As I understand it the rule that adult lungs couldn’t be used in children was because they used the entire lung in the past. Now they are able to use parts of the lung. This case isn’t just about this girl but also to change the standards so others can live

Only a portion of a lung is used, medicine advances faster than guidelines which is why decisions need to be made by physicians and not government. There is no gurarantee with any transplant that the person will survive..adult OR child

Welcome to Obamacare, brought to you by Cruella DeVille who has no medical training as far as I can tell. We are no longer humans but only a statistic and need to justify any care we receive…

Started around Lyme Conn. in late 70s and has spread on migratory birds. Also some proof that the existing Lyme Bacteria which was not as potent as today’s was weaponized on Plum Island just after WWII…Plum Island about an hour from Lyme Connecticut. There are books out about this.
There are over 300 strains worldwide and at least 100 in the USA, each of which may cause different symptoms or severity. Some people might be able to fight it off with no intervention and others become deathly ill…there are some genetic patterns that can cause issues. A very complex disease

the intricacies of Lyme cannot be discussed briefly but if the spirochete has been allowed to disseminate for years the immune system is compromised. Other stealth infections such as EBV, HHV-6, and other herpes strains reactivate. Common infections are easily caught, theory is th1 to th2 balance tilted to too much th2 which causes autoimmune like reaction, allergy etc. Correct that modulation is what is required But strengthening the immune system is what is done with many treatments used for late stage lyme along with correctng vit/ mineral/ hormonal imbalances. In other words no simple fix

Educate yourself about the Lyme controversy. There are thousands of sick people out there, just like the person in this article, who were undiagnosed or misdiagnosed and had their health suffer greatly due to faulty guidelines and inadequate testing plus the ignorance of most of the medical community.
