  • Again. The solution we need is to take back the Senate for the States. We need to start electing State reps who promise that as soon as they get in they will challenge the 17th amendment. As soon as we start having our state legislatures (as originally intended) sending our own reps to the US Senate, we will start to see a movement of power back to the states. 2010 saw a quantum shift in how Americans want to see out country run. If not for the 17th Amendment, the Senate would clearly be in the hands of the people and this would never have even gotten a vote.

  • “A part of it also is the challenge that minorities have, you have largely white male executives who are not necessarily enamored with the idea of having strong, confident minorities who say, ‘I can do this.’”

    This is laughable!

    Let’s re-write this.

“A part of it also is the challenge that conservative minorities have, you have liberal leaders who are not necessarily enamored with the idea of having strong, confident minorities who say, ‘I can do this, without government handouts.’”

  • My friend was in Sgt. Kabuki man. He’s the screaming guy being blown into a tree in that clip. Kabuki man creates hurricane force winds with his fans, to defeat evil. Same production company that filmed the Toxic Avenger.

  • Cass, You are engaged in what is known in Psycology 101 as projection.

Cass, it is you who are engaged in 2 minutes of hate. Just like Erin the other day. Having your followers mindlessly attack. The facts are facts. You have stated youe objective to destroy dissent. Your comments on Glenn Beck, are false, and you know it. You count on the fact that most of your followers won’t actually check things for yourself. Like him or not, Glenn Beck does constantly tell his viewers.listeners, ‘hey don’t beleive me, check this out for yourself.

  • This will bring about two major changes in Europe, if indeed it happens.

    1) A dramatic acendancy of Sharia based Islam. (Sharia savings works outside western banking, those with savings, will not have there savings touched.) They are already bragging that the social welfare state is how they are trying to bring Europe to its knees.

    2) A dramatic rise in Anti-Semetism. Many Jews, since biblical times kept much of their wealth in tangibles. When it all hits the fan, large percentages of their community will not face the same deprevation as all their neighbors. Think the collapse of the German Republic before the rise of facism, at a continent wide level.

Just how will all the little piggies who built straw and twig houses react to their neighbors who built with brick? And for those who don’t think it will happen here? Dream on.

  • I’ll say this. Without even entering into thw whole religious/moral part of the argument, the left lost the pro late-term abortion argument was lost almost two thousand years ago.

The Cesarian section operation was named for one of the Caesars. The legend has it that Julius Caesaer was born this way. (More than likley not true) The proceedure had been performed by farmers for centuries to save the new-born when the animals mother was dead or dying.

This was also done on human women. (Brutal yes. But it was done) One of the Caesars, (Julius? Who really cares) made it law that an attempt MUST be made if the mother was dead or dying. (This most often happened in child birth, however, the attempt was made, often successfully whenever the mother was late term, and met with accident, violence or terminal illness. The viability of the child was established, and an attempt to save the ‘citizen,’ was required.

Moral relativists can argue all they want, but the whole argument is based on a house of cards.

  • The whole Gay Marriage argument is a losing arguement for Conservatives. ‘We The People’ not the gov’t decide, who is an isn’t married.

If you feel that marriage is a man/woman, based upon your faith, you are entitled to your opinion, however, if you confer civil/secular rights based on that status, then you cede control to the govt, which is antithetical to the consitution.

I see only three ways to reconcile the ‘apparently’ opposed positons.

    1) No civil or secular rights based on marital status. (taxes, health-care proxy, estates et al,) everyone is an individual as far as the govt is concerned. Not a good idea, but reconciles the two.

    2) States issue either marriage licenses, or civil unions (ALL states would need to vote for one or the other) Either status’ would be considered equivalent, when it comes to the package of civil and secular rights. (reconciles, but allows argument over the word ‘marriage’ to continue.)

    3) Govts issue only ‘unions’ to any ‘couple’ wishing to declare and cement a ‘life-time’ commitment to one another. This status is equivalent for ALL couples, with ‘regard to civil or secular’ rights. Let the individual churches decide wheter or not they wish to issue marriage licenses. (best IMHO)
It reconciles, protects people of fatih from ‘HOMOPHOBE! propaganda.

If conservatives continue to allow the argument to be about the civil/secular rights we confer based on marital status, then this continues to be a

  • There are a higher % of American’s that are ‘Truthers,’ than ‘Birthers.’

Yet, American’s should judge ALL Repubs as haters, based on a smaller number of crazies than exist in the ranks of the Dems. Matthews ‘crazies,’ being progressives are OK FINE with him.

Sadly if you point out or agree with the definition of Natural Born citizen, you are automatically lumped in with the ‘birthers.’

  • I hope everyone realizes that lots of people are going to be visiting vets, for all types of things. The gov’t will then get angry at the competition, and then regulate this option away.

  • Obama’s War on Young Women

    March 12, 2013 at 8:46pm

I think tht a reat many peopl mis the point this woman was making. She’s a young conservative wmoan who has noticed that the Republican outreach effort, and communication was ineffective. It’s not enough to be in the right. You need to successfully communicate your mesage. That is what Reagan did. He was positive and hopeful. He certainly didn’t have all the answers, but he communicated his thoughts successfully.

As soon as you start repeating the mantra, “They’re gonna get what they deserve!” you have moved IMHO closer to their camp. You see…. My kids are gonna get what they don’t deserve, because a great many people who are theoretically on my side, attack anyone who mentions that the conservatives need to do a better job of communicating ideas. My kids didn’t sow this, but they certainly are going to reap this. If you learn to sow with better communication skills, then we can all reap a better harvest.
