@5%.. Nope… just around sunset we had some low-lying cloud cover due to some rain out east, but it was clear near the horizon to the west. The clouds picked up the truly magnificent colors from the sunset. My daughters and I walked out of the supermarket to see a sky that looked like it was ablaze in reds, oranges, and pinks. It was simply spectacular. The pictures for this article are pretty much what we saw.

THANK YOU! At age 74 my petite, still-employed, city born and bred mother was doing very physical work, packing out hundreds of pounds of lawn and garden supplies (soil, rock salt, etc.) every day… and was running up and down the stairs several times per day of the retail establishment for which she worked at that time. The most ridiculous scenarios involved MUCH younger people asking HER to load such items into their shopping carts…or bring said items to the register for them, and she would always oblige. I recall her coming home from work one day (having taken 3 buses to get there). A young woman, obviously a student, offered her seat to my petite, gray-haired mother. Mom smiled and politely declined, stating, “My work day is done. Yours won’t be over for several more hours. You sit.” The young lady offered some resistance, but then gratefully capitulated (one didn’t mess with Mom!). My 61-year-old husband would ride his bike back and forth to work (8 miles each way)…and get there faster than if he took mass transit. If this is what is defined as “elderly,” I will wear that moniker proudly. One millenial’s definition of “elderly” actually used to be known as “work ethic.”

“Trump can easily counter about Cruz’s donations from some bigwigs.” ….and Cruz counters with Trump’s contributions to the Clintons. Checkmate.

As a lifelong NYer, I am really shocked (NOT!) that that alleged champion of the oppressed Warren Wilhelm (aka Billy Boy DeBlasio) didn’t open up his 100-year-old 3-bedroom, 1 bath, Park Slope home to the homeless when he and the family packed up and moved on up to the East Side, i.e. Gracie Mansion. Alas, he’s renting out the Brooklyn digs for a paltrey $4975/month.
I’d bet money, though, that old Lloyd had no problem with the most recent reincarnation of Annie starring Quvenzhané Wallis and Jamie Foxx.

There’s a fine line between self-respect and outright narcissism, Dushy… Trumpet definitely falls to the narcissism side.

You do mean Trump, right?

Thanks for bringing back a memory. Many years ago I worked with a lovely Puerto Rican lady who was having problems with her teenage daughter. The brat was acting up and told her mother, “I don’t want to be like the white girls.” Mom’s reply – “What do you think you are – black? You ARE a white girl!”

Healing from receiving taxpayer-subsidized college education. Didn’t you get the memo? Theater of the absurd.

Not even that… he is “no longer an employee” there.

I actually question if, at the very least unconscious level, he even hates himself. It would make sense.

Beat me to it, Sarge. Good call. Some still think Cronkite was unbiased… what a joke.

Nice try buttercup… Nope… but I know several people who voted for Barry for exactly that reason.

Don’t insult rats. Rats are intelligent creatures. Old Charlie… not so much.
