  • You should, hate machine. With the South rising again, and we always knew we would, it gives us more political clout, not to mention more money. You know, if the South seceded today, it would be a different story than in the 1860′s, when the South was agrarian. The problem in the Civil War was the South’s lack of industry, and dependence on imports from abroad, which were cut off by the blockade. We don’t have that problem now. In addition, much of the military is from the southern US. The South always had the better generals, and now I think we have an advantage in the number of trained military. But I don’t think we have to secede- we just need to overpower politically and financially the northern states, which are being weakened by unions and liberal policies.

  • I am a graduate of UTC, and I am outraged at such a ban! Why do the wishes of atheists trump those of everyone else in the university? The atheists are definitely a minority in this TN college! I urge the alumni of UTC to withhold donations until the Chancellor gets his act together. There is no separation of church and state in the US Constitution. The atheists’ religion, humanism, is not more special than those of Christians. Someone needs to file a suit against this, citing discrimination against Christians, in favor of the religion secular humanism. There needs to be an organized outcry and action from the community and students.

  • I saw the movie the day it opened, before I heard anyone else’s interpretations or the director’s comments. (SPOILER ALERT) The alternative energy proponent turns out to be the bad guy, actually in cohoots with big oil. His name is Axelrod. My first thought was of GE. They talk big of alternative energy, take taxpayer money in the form of stimulus cash, , when everyone knows all of this is for naught, and this is merely corporate welfare, received as a payback for their work to get Obama elected via NBC and MsNBC. Axelrod was also the name of Obama’s campaign manager, and was in the White House until a few months ago as his adviser. I am wondering if they was a lone conservative somewhere on the writing staff. The plot goes right over the head of small children, and takes away from the movie for them.
