Maybe, it is based on the ranking of the schools within the University as compared to all other schools, at least on the graduate level. I'm not sure about how it works on the undergrad level, as I only applied to one school and that was based on costs of tuition. Further, on an undergaduate level many of the smaller universities are ranked higher than larger universities because the quality of education is that much better. On an undergraduate level I'd look at universities under 10,000 students and probably below 5,000 students. Being taught by ph.D level instructors who concentrate on teaching and not research is also a good criteria. Universities who mainly focus on research do not do as good a job on the teaching end for undergrads. If education is a goal, look for colleges, schools, or rather disciplines which focus on education within the university. It is a plus if the faculty are focusing on research projects that are geared to undergraduate participation which leads to undergraduates publishing from the research. I attended an undergraduate university that only did research in my discipline where undergraduates participated and emphasized our submitting papers for publication, not the instructor/professor.

Well now……the owner didn’t build that there business. The owner also probably thinks he is so smart.

That is the lamest thing I have ever read. “Redo-McCain”?????? really????? did you make that one up all by yourself??????
To say that Romney is anything like the career politician McCain is utter foolishness. So that makes you a fool for writing it.
Oh, that’s right, you are pissed off that Romney won the primary. So you are either a Paul or Johnson supporter.

Helloooooo………doesn’t anyone have a iPhone with a video camera on it. Just follow these buses and then download the video onto YouTube. The web can expose a lot of this, if it is really going on. You want laws to change for the better????? Prove that their is corruption via video and then watch what happens.

Romneybots????? How cute. Did you make that one up yourself? Probably not.
Typical lib, has to resort to name calling and labelling, instead of providing substantive evidence pointing to the contrary.

Wow……how stupid are Minnesotans??????? You just show up at the polls and vote???? “Let’s see Al……..how many votes did you say we needed to win???? No problem……we can make that many in no time. Just make sure the buses have full tanks, OK?”
At the poll registration, OMG….that has got to be the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. The GOP can kiss that state goodbye forever.

I have the Princeton Review book in front of me and I have no idea what you are referring to. Plus I just did the college visit and selection thing twice in the past 4 years for my kids. Oxy’s requirements for acceptance are not that high. It is second tier in all respects. Heck, they even accept a GED and only 60% graduated in the top 10% of their H.S. I could go on, but those two elements have second tier written all over them. Freshmen profiles are middle of the road, certainly nothing that Columbia would take. The school is considered to be “left leaning” and nothing like a Reed or Claremont-McKenna (two west coast schools). So again, I have no idea what you are referring to. I could find nothing that would even hint that Oxy is an Ivy league feeder school. The applicants for Oxy also look at a number of other schools (there’s a list) and there are no Ivy league schools on that list. Lastly, Oxy is not well respected in CA. Again, why on earth would an Ivy league lower itself to accept transfers from a second rate school on the west coast. This would be way out of the ordinary.

I’ve always wondered how a second rate student (testimony from Barry’s peers) from a second rate College (a very small college with a >40% acceptance rate) could EVER TRANSFER to Columbia.
I’m sorry, but only a straight-A student would be considered as a transfer student to Columbia from Occy. If Barry was indeed a straight-A student, why in the world would he hide his records. This is what makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Unless, of course, he is hiding something. Foreign students do not have to prove themselves (different grading scales, curriculum, etc), and these colleges/universities broadcast their “foreign student percentage” as if it was a status symbol.

Cyclonic activity/potential has been waning over the past decade. Sandy was a Category 1 Hurricane. According to the “Climate Change” crowd, cylonic activity was supposed to be increasing. Who’s the idiot now????? If an expert says one thing, but the opposite happens, then the expert is not an expert.
Stupid people, over-reacting, because they have never experienced a hurricane before. They are lucky it was only a category 1.
Global Warming, pffffffft New York city people are idiots.

Stu looks like he’s lost a lot of weight. Am I correct in my observation?

too little…….too late…………

Never happen, regardless of the outcome of this election. The MSM will not allow the Messiah or his minions from being paraded across American TVs. No one will receive anything out of this cover up.

They’re not killers…….they’re “folks”………
November 1, 2012 at 5:15pm
I fear you may be correct. It looks like the Benghazi story is not sticking and BS/BO is getting a bounce from Sandy. I would not be surprised if Romney wins the popular vote, but loses the electoral vote. BS/BO will maintain his presidency and we will all be screwed. The MSM will portray the republicans that are pursuing the Benghazi story as evil, and the weak minded left will be influenced, regardless of the evidence presented. The MSM + the stupidity of the left will save all dems that are pursued by the right. For example, the senator from NJ will not have any stain on his record after the hookers story has been shown the door. Had that been a GOP senator, the story would have been a 24/7 story aimed at hurting Romney’s 11/6 chances.
November 1, 2012 at 5:06pm
They aren’t ignoring the story…………they are chosing not to report it. There is a difference. The second is more sinister.
November 1, 2012 at 5:04pm
So what…….this will have no effect on anything. After they are silent for 24 hours, the idiots of this country will forget that anything was ever sensored.
November 1, 2012 at 5:01pm
Looks like that GOP movement is losing steam also. They must have received some threats from the MSM and told to back off.
