  Here’s how to enjoy the discounts of the loyalty card without providing your purchasing data:

  1) Ask for the loyalty
  2) Throw away the loyalty card form asking for your personal information
  3) Use the loyalty card to enjoy the discounts.

  I have done this at several grocery stores. I notice that with the people checking out in front of me that use their cards the cashier always says “thank you for shopping with us Mr. Jones, you saved $X dollars shopping with us today”.

  When I check out i see them looking on the receipt for my name and it’s not there. They just say “Thank you for shopping with us, you saved $X dollars”.

  So I enjoy the loyalty card discounts without big brother knowing what I purchased. A small victory.

  NEWS FLASH FOR TRAVELERS:

  I was going through TSA security this week at DFW. A young man in front of me was unloading his computer from his backpack for x-ray. He also came out with a BIG bottle of contact lens eyewash. He diligently offered the 16 oz. bottle to the TSA nit-wit stating “I’m sorry, I forgot this was in here. Can you (TSA) please throw this away for me?”

  The nit-wit TSA agent responds “Oh, that’s considered a medical necessity and it’s OK for you to carry it on.” WHAT?!?!?!

  Are you kidding me? Is there any semblance of reason with the TSA? Noting but a very expensive joke on the American traveler.
