I think it is ridiculous that this is called the Snowden Effect. Call it the NSA Effect!

  • November 16, 2013 at 8:11am

That’s naive. Snowden didn’t have access to all our National security secrets. He had specific access to the NSA and its spying program. Just because you have a securit clearance doesn’t mean you can get access whatever you want. “Need to know” still trumps everything else.

“Hypothetically violating the boundaries between church and state” ??? Contrary to popular belief there is no church of baseball and the state of baseball doesn’t really refer to the federal government. What an idiot.

Because he shouldn’t have to spen dhis life in prison for exposing something that American citizens needed to know about. So far nothing that doean’t drastically affect Americans has been leaked and inspite of warnings he hasn’t cozied up to enemies. I think time will tell whether or not Snowden is.a hero or traitor, but so far I still think the scale is.tipped to hero. What does scare me however, is that the longer he is on the run the more compromises he may have to make to appease those nations that are willing to stand up to the United States, just to ensure his continued safety.

Can not agree more. Why is this even on the Blaze? The only purpose I can see is to exose the vitriol and filth within the ranks of commentors here. I am ashamed and embarrassed to have anything in common with some of these trolls.

As a Mormon myself, actually I prefer the official church name, as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I find this article hurtful.

But as an American I find it shocking. Do we not have freedom of religion anymore? Are we now running around checking for wealthy Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims and yes, Mormons and assuming some vast church conspiracy because some of their members are wealthy. And the appalling depiction of what we consider a sacred event and turning it into a mercenary one…the publisher’s of this magazine should reread what Jesus did to the money lenders in the temple and be afraid, frankly. Whether or not they believe it, it is wrong to take something spiritual and mock it in this manner. It’s appalling that something like this is considered OK it modern media.

We may not agree on all things but surely we can respect eachother’s right to believe what we may.

Thank you, I appreciate your kind words and agree whole-heartedly! This is the time for all Americans to stand up to this sort of religious bashing. We may not agree on all points but we can respect each other’s right to believe and worship how, where and what they may.
