I graduated in 1974. We had this in Junior and Senior years, I forget what they called it. Mostly it was the athletes switching up with the cheerleaders and acting goofy. Not much participation among the rest of the student body, but then again, We were the Class of ’74, and We were apathetic.

Obviously the ‘feelings’ of whoever wrote this for BO. I bet he’s glad he didn’t have to actually say these words, since he’s not fond of the Brits. RIP Lady Thatcher…But that there were more of your type to help us all make it through.

What this all comes down to is the almighty dollar. I wish someone would finally come out and admit that. There are no laws currently barring same sex ‘partners’ from inheriting, visiting in the hospital, etc. The prohibition stops, for now, on same sex partners receiving government benefits, such as Social Security, from their partner at the partner’s death. If two men or two women want to “marry”, there should be no bar on a civilly recognized union for property purposes, but it is not a “marriage”. That term is, and always has been, reserved as primarily a religious or spiritual contract between a man and a woman. Period. Where the whole thing got messed up was whenever the government, state or federal, began to decide the State needed to have a say in a personal contract matter. This whole fight is going to continue into the churches, who will be forced to either go against their doctrine (not an acceptable outcome), or forced to defend that doctrine and NOT perform these ‘marriages’, which will only deplete resources they cannot afford to lose and that could better be used in the business of the church: helping others.
