  Aaaaaand WHATER39 exemplifies for us all the emotional wreckage that is a modern liberal. He’s scared of normal citizens that are armed because of somebody might “snap one day”.

  If you’re going to distrust someone, distrust the man telling you you’re wrong to be responsible for your own safety. Distrust the man willing to put his own safety and security in the hands of a select few.

  So, Keaton, you’re saying that a human should just take the beating, robbery, or other threats to his life, liberty, or property with a smile? Because guns are bad, evil, ill-intentioned creatures with a will of their own, right? In the hands of a responsible citizen defending his life, liberty, or property a gun can stop a crime. It does not automatically mean that the would-be criminal gets shot. And even if he were to eat a bullet, most states would be just fine with it assuming the threat was present.

  Given that it’s a 1911 and has three safety systems built in I’d say it’s still pretty safe (better than many others, I’d say). Most of the experienced shooters I know carry them just so.
